"Martin Luther King Jr. Day: Faith at the Intersections" The Reconciling Ministries Network in Chicago, Illinois, United States

"Martin Luther King Jr. Day: Faith at the Intersections"  The Reconciling Ministries Network in Chicago, Illinois, United States
This Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Reconciling Ministries Network is giving thanks for the voices of Rev. Dr. Pamela Lightsey, Rev. Gil Caldwell, and Bishop Melvin Talbert. We have been deeply privileged to benefit from their wisdom and experience over the years.
Recently, and with their blessing, we have compiled some of their contributions to the movement for change in The UMC into one readily available resource. We believe offering resources such as Faith at the Intersections: A Collection of Writings on Justice for Black and LGBTQ Communities in and beyond The United Methodist Church is an important part of living into the life and world that Martin Luther King Jr. hoped to one day see.
There is so much work to be done: injustice - for people of color, LGBTQ people, and many others - runs rampant in our church and in our world. May this day be a reminder of the call before us all - to combat and condemn injustice in all its forms, to actively seek justice, and to learn from the leaders in our midst and those who have faithfully gone before us.
