Dear Friends,
Sunday, June 1 - Circle this date. Mark it down. Plan to be Present. Because we're having a Party! A great celebration! We're going to burn our mortgage - in worship that Sunday. We're going to celebrate the amazing accomplishment of paying off a $3.4 million mortgage in 3 years, the culmination of the past 22 years of building at Trinity.
We will have just one worship service that day, followed by a catered Church picnic. You won't want to miss it!
Right now, we still have $467,000 left to pay, but we're trusting that it will all come in by the end of May. If, for whatever reason, you find yourself in a position NOT to be able to fulfill your commitment to this campaign, please email Laura Richardson today so we can plan accordingly.
We will give you monthly updates on our status, counting it down to the big and glorious day: June 1. To God be the Glory, great things He has done! Amen.
Remember this next Sunday, February 23 is the big and wonderful: "Talent/No Talent" night at Trinity. Some of you outstanding singers, musicians, artists, dancers out there, we need you, contact Rev. Esther. All ages are encouraged to participate. This event is in the Worship Center at 7 pm.
IHN is the bridge between homelessness and a safe haven for families with children. Trinity is hosting IHN families the week of 2/23 - 3/2. We need 3-two person teams of overnight hosts for our IHNfamilies. Wednesday (2/26),Friday(2/28) or Saturday (3/1) are all available. Teens are able to share this experience with a parent and receive service hours. We are in need of a driver for Saturday evening to pick up our guests from the IHN day center and bring them to Trinity. Please contact Marilyn Clugston to serve.
The season of LENT is just around the corner, and we need a short devotional from about 35 more of you! Please submit it to Jim Cook ASAP, using this format:
Title; Scripture verse, 250 words devotional, closing prayer. The topic is "Reflections of Jesus." Just share some of what Jesus means to you, or an aspect of Jesus' life and ministry that connects most deeply with you. Thanks so much. We need your devotional by March 1.
Also, several of you asked Rev. Aaron if the quotes from Pope Francis that were read in his sermon could be included in the Tuesday Word and we have included them at the end of this Tuesday Word.
Love and prayers, Dan

6:35 WORSHIP SERVICE
Please join us for The 6:35 Worship Service tomorrow, Wednesday, February 19 at 6:35 in the Chapel with Rev. Dan Johnson. Sermon: Stones that Shape Us
Scripture: 4 When all the nation had completely crossed over the Jordan, Yahweh spoke to Joshua, saying, 2 “Take twelve men out of the people, a man out of every tribe, 3 and command them, saying, ‘Take from out of the middle of the Jordan, out of the place where the priests’ feet stood firm, twelve stones, and carry them over with you, and lay them down in the place where you’ll camp tonight.’”
4 Then Joshua called the twelve men, whom he had prepared of the children of Israel, a man out of every tribe. 5 Joshua said to them, “Cross before the ark of Yahweh your God into the middle of the Jordan, and each of you pick up a stone and put it on your shoulder, according to the number of the tribes of the children of Israel; 6 that this may be a sign among you, that when your children ask in the future, saying, ‘What do you mean by these stones?’ 7 then you shall tell them, ‘Because the waters of the Jordan were cut off before the ark of Yahweh’s covenant. When it crossed over the Jordan, the waters of the Jordan were cut off. These stones shall be for a memorial to the children of Israel forever.’”
8 The children of Israel did as Joshua commanded, and took up twelve stones out of the middle of the Jordan, as Yahweh spoke to Joshua, according to the number of the tribes of the children of Israel. They carried them over with them to the place where they camped, and laid them down there. 9 Joshua set up twelve stones in the middle of the Jordan, in the place where the feet of the priests who bore the ark of the covenant stood; and they are there to this day.

MOMMY READS started at Trinity UMC several years ago. It is a marvelous program that takes books into the Lowell Correctional Institution for Women in Ocala FL so moms can record them for their children. Four times a year, this group of women travels to the prison, armed with books, MP3 players, and a loving spirit. Once there, about 30 moms will have the opportunity to choose a book to read and record for their child. The book and MP3 player are put in mailers and dropped at the Post Office on the way home! Aside from becoming involved in the program, the best way to help support this effort is by donating new paperback books for children from preschool through middle school. Of course, financial contributions are always appreciated! Each trip costs approximately $800. For more information please contact Beth Haines
or call 352-373-9469.

From Rev. Aaron
Quotes from Pope Francis
"Every baptized person is a "cristoforo," a bearer of Christ, as the ancient holy Fathers said. Whoever has encountered Christ, as the Samaritan woman at the well, cannot keep this experience to him/herself, but has the desire to share it, to bring Jesus to others. It is for all of us to ask ourselves if one who meets us perceives in our life the warmth of faith, sees in our face the joy of having encountered Christ!"
"Every Christian is called to go out to encounter others, to dialogue with those who do not think the way we do, with those who have another faith, or who don't have faith. To encounter all because we all have in common our having been created in the image and likeness of God. No one is excluded from the hope of life, from the love of God. The Church is sent to reawaken this hope everywhere, especially where it is suffocated. There is need of the oxygen of the Gospel, of the breath of the Spirit of the Risen Christ, to rekindle it in hearts. The Church is the house whose doors are always open not only so that everyone can find welcome and breathe love and hope, but also because we can go out and bring this love and this hope."
The Pope's address can be read in its entirety here.
