RespectAbililty with Jennifer Laszlo Mizrahi for Monday, 21 July 2014

RespectAbililty with Jennifer Laszlo Mizrahi for Monday, 21 July 2014
Hello!
As you know, there are very exciting developments on the road to enabling people with disabilities to get and keep good jobs! WIOA passed by votes of 415-6 in the US House and 95-3 in the US Senate, and the President is expected to sign it into law soon. Also, due to new executive orders and regulations, the US Federal government will be hiring more people with disabilities. Moreover, starting on January 1, 2015 US Federal contractors will be expected to have 7% of their employees in all job categories be people with disabilities. These are only some of the big changes as Governors and the private sector are doing exciting new things.
Join us tomorrow for a conference call to outline the new "theory of change", which we are calling the "Jackie Robinson Strategy." We named it that because Robinson was the first African American to join a major league baseball team, and he brought wins everywhere he went. We have created a strategy that is win-win-win for employers, taxpayers and people with disabilities alike!
Sign up HERE to get the powerpoint for the call and to RSVP! We are still finishing the presentation and will need to email it to you tomorrow.
