Greetings RezDowntowners,It’s great to be writing you this morning after what has been a short, but fantastic week in the life of our church. Things started out on Tuesday with what was a great Volunteer Celebration. Our theme was ‘Love to Serve,’ because this is a community that loves to serve others the same way that God serves us. We had well over 200 people in attendance and the energy was high! If you are interested in volunteering or serving as a way of helping us live into our purpose of building Christian community, please email Jackie Thomas and she could connect you with several opportunities for service. Also, as a way of saying thank you, our staff put together a fun little video for you to check out and share. We call it, “The Love (to serve) Boat.”
This weekend, we’ll be concluding our sermon series on The Power of Words, and you won’t want to miss it. I hope you’ll invite friends and join us for worship on Saturday night at 5:10pm or anytime on Sunday (9, 10:45, 11:15 or 5:00pm). I want to remind you that the Broadway Bridge Half-Marathon is happening on Sunday morning as well, so please leave a little extra time to get to worship as there will be several road closures on Sunday morning before 9am.
Finally, I’m excited to share that we are kicking off our RezLife Middle School program this Sunday at 10:45am on the second floor of 1508 Grand. I am so thankful for the way God is moving downtown. Please be in prayer for our volunteer leaders as we kick off this exciting new ministry at RezDowntown!
In the meantime, here are several ways to connect to the life of this church in the coming weeks:

After coffee and donuts, teams will receive a list of three stops: one of our city’s public libraries, one of our mission partners and, time permitting, a retail provider. Each participant should bring $3 (exact change) to obtain a bus pass for the day. After stopping at each of their assigned sites, teams will meet back at the church for pizza and conversation. Donations will be collected after arriving back at church to purchase bus passes to be distributed by one of our mission organizations. Here's a video to help you learn more about this challenge.
