Patners In Health "A holiday gift to the mothers of Malawi" for Wednesday, 17 December 2014

Many people have never heard of an autoclave, Gary, but it shouldn't surprise you that a machine that sanitizes surgical equipment can save lives in an operating room.

At Neno District Hospital in Malawi, a $45,000 autoclave is desperately needed to provide mothers safe births via lifesaving cesarean sections.

But in order to afford one, the hospital's administrators must sacrifice something else from their budget.

We simply cannot let them make this choice.

That's why I'm asking you to join me in making a holiday gift this year that will save lives: Will you donate $15 or more today to help us provide safe care to mothers in Malawi's Neno District?

We've already come together to improve the quality of care for people around the world—tackling crises from Ebola in West Africa to child malnutrition in Haiti and beyond. This is the PIH community at its best.

Sometimes a basic tool can dramatically improve the lives of thousands of people. And if we each do what we can this holiday season, we can give this hospital, and the women and families it serves, this critical piece of equipment—an autoclave.

Gary, help us buy the mothers of Malawi an autoclave this holiday season. Make a gift of $15 or more now:
