Jews for Jesus "Paris missionaries redeem the moment" David Brickner, from Jews for Jesus

Jews for Jesus "Paris missionaries redeem the moment" David Brickner, from Jews for Jesus

Last month, much of the world was focused on Paris. ISIS launched a terrorist attack at the offices of a political newspaper, killing 14. That attack was about two kilometers from the Paris office of Jews for Jesus. Not long after, terrorists took hostages in a kosher supermarket — this time the action was only a few blocks from our branch. The police guarded our area, recognizing that as Jews, we were a potential target as well.
The terrorism and the anti-Semitism displayed left France in shock. But for our Jews for Jesus missionaries there, it was a defining moment where they put their trust in the Lord and spoke gospel truth into the fearful climate of Paris.
The phrase, “I am Charlie,” (synonymous with “I am for free speech” in response to the murder of the newspaper editor) swept the French nation and world news. We responded by taking Jesus’ “I am” statements (John 6: 35, 8: 12, 9:5, 8: 58, 10:9, 10:11, etc.) and making them the topic of conversation. These proved powerful and pertinent: a platform to gently challenge Jews (and non-Jews) to look to Jesus. Our staff spoke with many unbelievers and continue to follow up on those contacts even as I write to you.
Does this encourage you as it does me? We have a bright, bold and brave staff and they are worthy of your support and prayers. Would you consider a special gift now to enable our missionaries to keep on doing what they do so well? $197.00 would enable our missionaries to carry out our work for one day. $985 would cover the costs of maintaining one of our key centers for a week.
We are able to advance the gospel in difficult times because of partners like you. We can be a resourceful, responsive and relevant ministry in today’s world with your partnership. Our passion is to stay on the front lines of Jewish evangelism, wherever those lines may be. Won’t you consider generously supporting the work we have ahead of us this year? We are so grateful to God for you!
In our Messiah,
David Brickner
