ANN BLACKMAN RETIREMENT
It is with a heavy heart but warm wishes that we announce Ann Blackman will be retiring, effective
July 17, 2015. Ann's leaving marks the end of an era for Congregation Beth Israel. She along with Terry Taubman brought Congregation Beth Israel to its present location and has been an integral part of its history and growth over the last 24 years. We are indebted to her for her commitment and dedication as Ann always went above and beyond for CBI.

CBI's Haberkorn Religious School would like to acknowledge the Shabbat Service Attendance Award recipients for the 2014-2015 school-year.
These students attended more than the required number of Shabbat services for the year.

Last weekend, about 40 former campers of Camp Charles Pearlstein traveled to camp on the same winding Prescott mountain road that led them there decades earlier, to attend a June 6 alumni reunion.
The alumni, along with their spouses, children and the current camp staff – a total of about 150 people – participated in camp activities, such as ziplining, rock climbing, sports and art, and toured the camp, which is owned and operated by Congregation Beth Israel and now called Camp Daisy & Harry Stein.
During the tour, the alumni had a chance to share memories of each of the stops, according to Maryn Gordon, Camp Stein assistant director.
All past camp directors were honored at the event; those in attendance were Marc Lerner, Jon Levin, Michael Rosenthal and Bruce Wall.
During one activity, alumni shared camp memories and wrote them on strips of paper that were connected to form a paper chain of memories. The chain will be hung up at camp and this summer’s campers will add their own memories, Gordon said.
There was also a carnival-themed birthday party – the camp is celebrating its 40th birthday this year – and a Havdalah ceremony. The event was organized by Laura Drachler, chair of the camp’s alumni committee that launched last summer.
