"Developing Leaders" by Stan Toler
"4 Resources All Leaders Can Give Their Teams"
"The Key Ingredients for Success in Every Organization"
Leaders are always on the lookout for an inside edge-the new idea, technology, or strategy that will generate momentum and guarantee success.
In search of that, we often look outside our organization to leadership experts, scientific studies, polls, trends, and whatever else seems to be working for somebody else.
The things your organization needs to be successful may be closer to home. If you can provide your team with these four things, they are almost certain to exceed your expectations.
Here are the four resources every team, and every team member, must have to succeed.
1. Hope
Hope is the difference between a dying community and a thriving city. Hope is the key ingredient in every turnaround church. Hope generates instant momentum, and when hope disappears, momentum goes with it.
As a leader, your first task is not to cast vision but hope. Your team, and every member must believe that a preferred future is possible, even before they can visualize what it will be.
As a leader, you must be a dealer in hope. Give your people a reason to get out of bed in the morning, and they will arrive for work ready to change the world.
2. Character
John C. Maxwell identifies the leader as the lid on every organization. While that's true, the lid on every individual is character. A team member that lacks a good work ethic or is untrustworthy cannot succeed-for long. A team that gossips, complains, and finds fault cannot be productive.
The good news is that character can be acquired. Establish expectations of integrity for your team, and hold them accountable. They will rise to your expectations.
3. Training
You aim to hire highly skilled people, but training doesn't end with a college degree. We live in a rapidly changing world, and new knowledge and skills are required frequently.
As the leader, you must ensure that your team members have the knowledge and ability to compete in your industry. They can't drum up money for continuing education, but you can budget for it. Resource your team adequately and watch their morale skyrocket.
4. Opportunity
The best equipped, highest trained team in the world can do nothing without an opportunity. Leaders must bring those opportunities to the organization in the form of new business, new ideas, and fresh vision. Keeping your team fueled with possibilities will keep them motivated and productive.
As a leader, you provide what your team needs to succeed. What's the key resource that keeps your team moving? I'd love to hear your answer on Facebook or Twitter![Stan Toler]

Acts 1:8, "But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth."
God is truly at work in this great nation. When the team gathered for a baptism service, they had no idea what God had in store for them. A mother came running to the team members, "My children...they cannot walk...they cannot talk..."

MAKING CHRISTLIKE DISCIPLES IN CAMBODIA
Cambodia: Acts 1:8, “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”
We are grateful that the Lord allows us to participate with Him in His Word and helping people know Him. Earlier this year, we were privileged to baptize more than thirty people in one of the twenty-two new villages where our brothers and sisters carried the Good News. It was a wonderful and festive celebration!Read: Cambodia - 14 Days...50 students!
As the baptism was concluding, a mother approached a team member, speaking rapidly. After asking her to slow down, the team member understood her to say, “My children- they cannot walk, they cannot talk, they cannot swim, but they know Jesus and want to be baptized!” The team member looked to where the woman was pointing. There, backed into the water as deep as he could go, the father had a cart with three young special-needs men. The team member shared their need and immediately the pastors surrounded the cart, pouring water over these young men and praying intensely.
God is truly raising up disciples in this nation! We will continue to bear witness to the Kingdom of God through acts of compassion, education, discipleship, fellowship, and evangelism in our Jerusalem, Judea, and Samaria, even to the “ends of the Earth!”[Team Member]
A few months later, we held a Bible college class on Church Growth and Evangelism. Two-thirds of the class was taught by our Khmer leaders. The father of the three young special-needs men was a part of the class; his first time to attend a session as a leader of the developing church in the village.

"just what do Nazarenes believe?" Have you ever been asked that question by one of your friends or acquaintances? Do you have an answer for them?
The core beliefs of the Church of the Nazarene are found in the Articles of Faith. These articles provide the essential "glue" that binds the church into a unified and cohesive whole. Without the unifying expression of our beliefs as articulated in these articles, we have no reason to exist as a denomination.
On November 20th, World Mission Communications announced the release of the Android version of the AOF StudyMaps.

Free VBS Resource Continues to Impact Children Worldwide
SDMI

In the fall of 2014, Kids Reaching Kids began work on a new Vacation Bible School curriculum in response to a growing need within many local Nazarene churches for Wesleyan/Holiness Vacation Bible School that could bring children to a saving faith in Christ without creating a financial burden for the church.
The God of the Underdogs VBS was sent free of charge to every Nazarene church within the U.S. and Canada; eventually, it made its way across the globe. The curriculum was made available in both English and Spanish, and with the help of some VBS-passionate Nazarenes in Kenya, portions were translated into Swahili.

Nazarene Compassionate Ministries Making Impact in Myanmar!
Myanmar

July 2015, heavy monsoon rain poured into Myanmar, causing rivers and creeks to overflow, flooding the low lying areas around the waterways.
The flooding has become the worst natural disaster in Myanmar history - affecting twelve of the fourteen states and regions. Flash flooding and torrential rains have destroyed farmlands, roads, railways, bridges, and houses. Kaylay Township, where the headquarters of the church of the Nazarene resides, was severely affected. Forty-two of the sixty villages in Kalay township were flooded.

According to a local news source, in the Sagaing region alone, 190,000 acres of farmland were flooded and over 18,000 acres were destroyed. This is just a small portion of the 1.29 million acres of farmland affected in the whole of Myanmar. Though the flood receded, it left the farmlands as creeks and sandbanks. As a result, most all of the crops have been lost and much of the farmland will not be cultivated for some years. Among the flood-affected people, two of our own church members - who are widows from Kanan village and 9 Mile, lost their houses in the flood. Several other church members lost farmland as well...

"THE IMMIGRANT AMONG US" by Dr. Jerry D Porter

The Hebrew word gēr and the Greek word xenos can be defined as “stranger” or “foreigner.” The wordimmigrant is used in this article in place of these nouns.
Abraham and Moses were immigrants. “I am animmigrant and a sojourner with you. Give me a … burying-place with you …” (Genesis 23:4, ASV). “Then she (Zipporah) gave birth to a son, and he named him Gershom, for he said, ‘I have been an immigrant in a foreign land’” (Exodus 2:22, NASB).
“You shall not oppress an immigrant, since you yourselves know the feelings of an immigrant, for you also were immigrants in the land of Egypt” (Exodus 23:9, NASB). Due to human trafficking, Joseph migrated to Egypt. Later his family migrated there in order to survive. Similarly, unwilling slaves were transported from Africa to the Americas. Today people migrate to help their families survive.
The Bible instructs us to grant justice to immigrants as though they were our own brothers. “You shall not oppress a hired servant… whether he is one of your brethren or one of the immigrants who are in your land …” (Deuteronomy 24:14, RSV). “You shall not pervert justice due the immigrant… When you gather the grapes of your vineyard, you shall not glean it afterward; it shall be for the immigrant, the fatherless, and the widow (Deuteronomy 24:17, 21, RSV).
“If an immigrant dwells with you in your land, you shall not mistreat him. Theimmigrant who dwells among you shall be to you as one born among you, and you shall love him as yourself” (Leviticus 19:33–34, NKJV). Our Lord quoted, “Love him as yourself,” as part of the greatest commandment.
The Jerusalem church became an immigrant church. God often uses immigrants to spread the gospel. “On that day a great persecution broke out against the church, and all except the apostles were scattered …” (Acts 8:1,NIV). Every year millions of displaced refugees flee their homes seeking safety. Remember that Jesus and his parents fled to Egypt to escape King Herod’s jealous anger.
Jesus said, “For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was an immigrant and you invited me in” (Matthew 25:35, NIV).
“Do not forget to show hospitality to immigrants, for by so doing some people have shown hospitality to angels …” (Hebrews 13:2, NIV). Genuine Christians are instructed to befriend and assist immigrants. In so doing, we care for Christ and entertain angels.
We honor immigrants by referring to them as “undocumented immigrants” rather than “illegal aliens.” Their documents are not in order, similar to a person who drives with an expired license. We must differentiate between that which is legal and that which is morally right. For example, prostitution is morally wrong, even if it is legal. Under South African apartheid, a person was arrested for using the wrong toilet. My wife’s ancestors illegally assisted slaves fleeing to freedom. While their actions were not legal, they were morally right.
If all laws in our nations were in keeping with the kingdom of God, then breaking the law would be morally wrong. Nations around the world, however, have crafted laws that often run counter to clear biblical instruction. We need laws that dignify productive immigrants.
Regardless of the political debate, God calls us to respect, protect, assist, evangelize, disciple, and love all the immigrants near us.
