Weekly eNote from Pastor Scott Chrostek for  Friday, November 13, 2015 at The Resurrection United Methodist Church Downtown of Kansas City, Missouri, United States

Friday, November 13, 2015,
Greetings RezDowntowners,
This weekend we will continue our sermon series on Your Money and Your Life. I will be preaching live a message entitled: The Factors of Generosity. I am excited to continue looking at the relationship we have with money and how it shapes the relationships we have with those around us but also with God. I hope you'll join us in worship. I hope you would consider inviting others to join you as well. No matter where you are, what stage of life you are in, or your familiarity with the topic, I’m sure that this sermon will be one of great importance for your life and fulfillment.
This weekend is also our Committment Weekend where we invite those of you who consider this to be your church home to prayerfully fill out your annual commitment card to give to the mission and ministry of this church over the next year. In advance of this weekend in worship, Wendy and I have been praying over our commitments. This is now a weekend that we both look forward to as it provides a great opportunity for us to set a new goal in our marriage and to make a new promise to God for the year to come. After much prayer and in anticipation of all that's to come in the life of our church we are looking forward to placing our financial promises on the altar this weekend in worship. As we talked through our commitments this past week, we reflected over how our relationship with God and our relationship with money has changed over the past ten years of our marriage. We remembered times when we didn't have enough to cover all of our bills and times where we had more than enough to give abundantly. Regardless of where we were, one thing remained true, God longs for us to make love-filled promises in response to God's first love for us. The same holds true for you. Wherever you are, no matter what you're walking through God longs for us to make love-filled commitments with him that will draw us closer to one another. My hope is that you'll join Wendy and I in bringing you commitments forward this weekend in worship.
