Reverend George W. Wattenbarger, age 99, a retired clergy member of the Great Plains United Methodist Conference, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 29, 2015. George served Haysville, Kechi, Sedgwick, Wichita Pleasant Valley, Salina Grand Avenue, Smith Center, Towanda-Benton, South Hutchinson, Wichita Mt. Olivet in Kansas. George retired from full time ministry in 1982 but continued to minister and share his faith with others for the remainder of his days.
Viewing, 10:30-11:30 a.m., and service, 1 p.m., Monday, Jan. 4, 2015 both at Aldersgate United Methodist Church, 7901 W. 21st St. North, Wichita, Kansas.
Survivors: daughter, Marilyn (Bob) Means of Wichita, Kansas. Preceded in death by his wife of 73 years, Ruth (Sheppard); parents, George and Zara (Burden) Wattenbarger, sons, Donald and George Wattenbarger. Interment at Resthaven Cemetery, Wichita, Kansas.
