"How to say God’s name" by Stephen M. Miller
No one today seems to know how to pronounce God’s name. Most English Bibles translate it as “LORD” (Genesis 2:4 NLT). But the Jews who copied the stories onto scrolls used shorthand. They spelled God’s name without vowels: YHWH. Scholars today pronounce it Yahweh (YAH way). But it’s just a guess. Happily, “Yahwho,” as in the Great Yahoo, is not possible according to at least one Hebrew language specialist.A Visual Walk Through Genesis, page 27.
