"The stuff that saves moms" PIH.org from Partners in Health in Boston, Massachusetts, United States for Wednesday, 17 August 2016

"The stuff that saves moms" PIH.org from Partners in Health in Boston, Massachusetts, United States for Wednesday, 17 August 2016I lead a team of nine nurse-midwives in Sierra Leone—the most dangerous place on earth for pregnant women.
And to save moms' lives amid the worst maternal death rates in the world, we need staff and supplies.
That means medical tools for a safe, hygienic delivery and qualified attendants to manage emergencies when every second counts.
I put together this list of what's needed to save Sierra Leone's most vulnerable mothers. Will you help provide these crucial supplies?

Across Sierra Leone, 1 in 16 women dies in pregnancy and childbirth, because poverty is rampant. Because health care barely exists.
Every day, my team fights back. Let's make sure they have all they need for the job.
