"Two Trips to Change Your Life" The Global Immersion Project in San Diego, California, United States "Join us for two labs this fall that will change your life" for Monday, 15 August 2016Dear Friends,
This fall we have two amazing opportunities available In a time of such division and misunderstanding, pushing towards the way of peace takes intentional effort and time. One way to do this is to join us for one of our learning labs. We have TWO incredible labs coming up in the next few months and spots are limited.
Oct. 27-30: Immigrants' Journey Learning Lab
There are 12 million undocumented immigrants in the US. Immigration isn’t an issue reserved to the halls of politics, it’s a daily reality in your city. How might the church be mobilized as an instrument of peace in this human reality? What does it look like to take seriously Jesus’ mandate to care for the foreigner among us? How might we approach immigration from a human perspective guided by a Jesus ethic? This lab is a five-week formational journey, including three days on the ground in San Diego and Mexico.
“If you’re looking to genuinely understand a complex topic and be equipped to respond as a follower of Jesus, I whole-heartedly commend TGIP’s Immigrants’ Journey Learning Lab.” - Matthew Soerens, Field Director, Evangelical Immigration Table & Co-Author of Welcoming the Stranger: Justice, Compassion & Truth in the Immigration Debate

Nov. 15-22: Israel/Palestine Learning Lab
Israel/Palestine is a place of great interest where history unfolded and where, today, it continues to unfold. It is a place of hope and expectation as well as of injustice and pain for Jews, Christians, and Muslims worldwide.
It is the place where an ancient conflict plays out in contemporary times: the conflict between Abraham’s children. In this Learning Lab, we find ourselves in the middle of injustice, pain, collective suffering, celebration, hope, and reconciliation as we learn from & with Jews and Palestinian Christians & Muslims who are actively pursuing peace. Our lab includes eight days on the ground in Israel and Palestine.
“The uniqueness of TGIP is found in its ability to create a space that fuses learning, breaking of stereotype, and—most importantly—loving and honoring those who are different from you.” - Sami Awad, Executive Director, Holy Land Trust
Deadline to register for these labs is September 1!
