If you ask ten people what God is all about, you’re likely to get ten different answers. Some people think he’s just some remote absentee landlord who’s disinterested in our daily lives. Others are convinced he’s an angry judge sitting up in the sky, just waiting for us to mess up. But what if we’ve got it wrong? Maybe if we could figure out who God really is and understand his character better, we’d find that there’s an impact on our lives far beyond what we could imagine. Join us for our series, “The God I Wish We Knew,” where we pull back the curtain and separate the truth from the misconceptions.

SERVICE TIMES:
We have 2 services on Sunday mornings. They both share the same message and communicator, but with a varied worship context and expression:
THE SANCTUARY meets at 9:00am and is traditional worship setting that embraces historical hymns and liturgical traditions with an authentic faith.
THE AUDITORIUM meets at 10:30am and is a worship experience where the music is louder, led by a live band, and authentic faith is celebrated.
Kids (birth - 5th grade)
Torrey Kids meet in the Berry Center and The Admin Buidling during both services.
Youth (6th - 12th grade)
Torrey Youth meet at 10:30am in the Youth Room in Wyle Chapel.
CELEBRATION OF LIFE:

Dr. Richard Grimmett , a long-time member of Torrey Pines Church, passed away on July 4, 2016. Dick served for many years as a deacon. A Celebration of Dick's life will be held in the sanctuary on September 3rd, at 11:00am. The family will hold a reception in the Canyonview Room immediately following the service. All are welcome to attend.
GROWTH GROUPS:

We are going to be launching our Growth Groups at the end of September. Are you interested in hosting a growth group? We will provide training for you and will equip you with the information you need. Please plan on attending the training this Sunday, September 4th at 8:00am in the CanyonView Room. This will be led by Brian Berry. Please RSVP by sending an email toinfo@torreypineschurch.org.
BAPTISM TAILGATE PARTY:

Are you interested in getting baptized? Please let us know on your connection card or send an email to info@torreypineschurch.org. We are having a "Baptism Tailgate Party" on Sunday, September 11th right after the second service until 2:00pm. Wear your favorite football team's jersey on that day. There is going to be tasty food, jumpers for the kids, fun music and will be a great time to get to know each other better as we celebrate with all who are taking this step of faith!

COMING UP AT TORREY YOUTH!

Our midweek programming is launching for the fall on Wednesday, September 7th. We are so excited about the new opportunities that it will provide for your student to get more closely connected to other students while deepening their faith in Christ. Its going to be awesome! Here are few important changes that we are adding in this fall.
1. We are adding in a high school program on Wednesdays! In the past the midweek program was only for middle schoolers but our growth has provided us the opportunity to expand it to high schoolers as well. We will all meet together for our initial gathering and then split into growth groups to go even deeper.
2. We are moving the time back one hour. In the past we started the program at 6pm. We have decided to move that time back an hour to begin at 7pm. This will provide many of our famlies an opportunity to get form after school activities to youth group without being rushed. We hope that this will be a great change! The program will run from 7pm-8:30pm each Wednesday.
As we already said, we are SO excited about the launch of our fall midweek program. We are looking to build on the momentum that our summer built and continue discipling students! We hope that your student will join us on Wednesdays this fall.
