Weekly eNote from Pastor Scott Chrostek for Friday, October 14, 2016 from The United Methodist Church of the Resurrection Downtown  of Kansas City, Missouri, United States
Greetings RezDowntowners,
I hope this message finds you doing well. We had a great gathering last night celebrating all of our volunteers! What a joy it is to share this holy journey of building Christian community with so many committed and faithful people who give of their time, talent, heart and passion to transforming the heart of this city and in turn changing the world. Each year around this time, I get excited because it gives the staff team and I an opportunity to reflect over and give thanks for the privilege of serving here at Resurrection Downtown with each of you, and let me tell you that this is as true this year as it ever has been. With so much in store in the year to come, I give thanks to God for all of you and I cannot wait to see where we go from here.
This weekend in worship I'll be continuing in our series on The Good Life, by asking the question, "Do you believe you have the power to change the world?" It is going to be a great weekend in worship. Also, at our 9:00am service we’ll be presenting our 3rd Graders with Bibles. This is a faith milestone within our church and a great opportunity to share God’s life-giving word in a very touching, worshipful way. If you have a 3rd grader and would like them to receive a signed, personal Bible this Sunday, please email Sarah.Brischle@cor.org – even if you are unable to attend. I’m so excited about this weekend in worship.
Lastly, tomorrow morning we'll be hosting our FaithWork Saturday and the kickoff to our RezMoms group, both are happening at 9am, however, this Saturday morning is also the morning of the Kansas City Marathon, so please make an extra effort to leave the house a bit early to navigate around the race. By Sunday mid morning the streets will be free and clear and by Saturday night we'll be ready for worship! I hope you'll invite friends and join us as I'm excited to share about God's plan and purpose for our lives and how that ties into the Good Life that we're all looking for...
In the meantime, here are a variety of ways to get plugged into the life of our church and community:
