8 Nights of Joy from Rabbi Moffic of Congregation Solel in Highland Park, Illinois 60035, United States "The Book is Here"

8 Nights of Joy from Rabbi Moffic of Congregation Solel in Highland Park, Illinois 60035, United States "The Book is Here"

Are you feeling the long evenings where you live? Here in Chicago these evenings are dark and cold.
That's why I am so grateful Chanukah is arriving soon! We get to experience eight nights of light and joy.
Chanukah, like Christmas, comes at the darkest time of the year. This year the two holidays begin at the same time. The first night of Chanukah is also Christmas Eve.
Bring on the Light
Whatever your faith, you can fill this dark time with light. The eight readings attached to this email give you some guidance in doing so. I encourage you to print it out and read one each night of Chanukah.
And I also encourage you to gift yourself the gift of Five Days to Your Best Year Ever. This course, developed by my friend Michael Hyatt, will give you clarity for the year ahead.
I have now gone through it three times. This year my congregational team is going through it. I could not recommend any program more practical, meaningful and life-changing. If you're searching for a breakthrough, you don't want to miss this. He closes registration tomorrow at midnight.
Here's the link to learn more about it. It's the best gift you can give yourself this year.
With warmest wishes for a holiday and a year of light and joy,
Rabbi Evan Moffic

Have You Seen the New Facebook Video? from Rabbi Moffic
The Book is Here

%FIRST_NAME,
If you're on the Facebook, you may have gotten a charming new video summarizing the last year through your uploaded pictures and posts. I've included mine below.
As it turns out, 2016 was an exciting year. But it was also hard.
The divisions in our country pain me. Watching my children grow up both excites and scares me.
Now I'm thinking about what's next? You and I share a commitment to living faith-filled meaningful lives. And we seek the guidance of the best teachers.
Michael Hyatt is one of those teachers. A Deacon and former CEO of one of the world's largest publishers, he gets our fears and hopes. And he has a unique of way of providing life-changing guidance in clear and practical ways.
Yesterday he opened up his online course where he walks you through an extraordinary 5 day process that will set you up for a banner year. It was this course that pushed me to clarify my vision and write the three books I've written so far. If you're searching for a breakthrough, you don't want to miss this.
I have now gone through it three times. This year my congregational team is going through it. I could not recommend any program more practical, meaningful and life-changing.
I believe so strongly in it that I will send you a free copy of my first book if you get the course.
It's only open for a few days. So try it yourself. I want this to be a life-changing year for you.
With warmest wishes,
Rabbi Evan Moffic
P.S.: The course is only available for a few days. So try it now for yourself.
P.P.S.: And here's the promised video of my 2016.

How I Had a Breakthrough from Rabbi Moffic
The Book is Here

It's ice-cold in Chicago, and we're not getting out much. So yesterday I took a little time to go through some old notebooks. I found something intriguing.
In my journal entry from July 8, 2004, I have a note: "Need to write book on Jewish wisdom."
I wasn't even a rabbi yet. I was a lowly seminary student.
Ten years, however, I realized the dream. And realizing it has led to two more books, a large blog, extraordinary teaching opportunities, and a thriving congregation. But getting there took a lot of effort—and a big push.
That push came from clarifying my vision. What do I want out of life? What is God calling me to do?
But we don't just hear that call automatically. We need a guide.
For me, Michael Hyatt has been that guide. A Deacon and former CEO of one of the world's largest publishers, he gets our fears and hopes. And he has a unique of way of providing life-changing guidance in clear and practical ways.
A Push for You
Do you want the clarity to know what is possible in your life? Well, yesterday he opened up his online course where he walks you through an extraordinary 5 day process that will set you up for a banner year.
It was this course that pushed me to clarify my vision. If you're searching for a breakthrough, you don't want to miss this. Here's the link to learn more about it.
I have now gone through it three times. This year my congregational team is going through it. I could not recommend any program more practical, meaningful and life-changing.
I believe so strongly in it that I will send you a free copy of that first book if you take the course. Just let me know if you get it.
Warmly,
Rabbi Evan Moffic
P.S.: It's only available for a few days. So try it now for yourself.

2 Gifts for You from Rabbi Moffic
The Book is Here

It’s December. I can’t believe it. But December is not just about snow. It’s not just about holidays. This is the month to start thinking about the New Year. This is the month to start thinking who you will become in the coming year. And we all need a little guidance in doing so.
So I have two gifts for you. The first is a tool developed by one of my mentors and teachers, Michael Hyatt. It is a LifeScore Assessment. It helps you discover what areas of life you care most about, and how you can find greater clarity and success in each of them.
I do this assessment every year. It’s available for just a few days. Just click here and take it right away. Many people have found it extremely helpful and instructive.
The second is 10 blessings for the New Year I composed last year. Many people found them comforting and inspiring. Here they are.
1. Looking Backward and Forward: The name January comes from the Roman god “Janus.” He had two faces so he could look forward and backward at the same time. Eternal God, help us to know this truth. We can look back, and in so doing, we can help create the way forward. The past need not hold us back. It can lead us ahead.
2. Unwrap the Gift: Eternal God, You gave us the greatest gift: the gift of life. In the coming year, help us use it wisely. May we grow in generosity, kindness and forgiveness, hope, faith and love. Amen.
3. Beginnings are blessings: Eternal God, bless this new beginning with an extra spirit of your strength, so that we may turn our days into blessings of your name. Amen.
4. Possibilities: To begin again is not a dream. It is an everlasting possibility. God, help us to grab hold of it and make it real in the coming year. Amen
5. The Book of Life: A new year is a new page in the book of our lives. May we write with color, wisdom and humility. And may your grace fall upon it consistently and unceasingly. Amen. (The ultimate prayer for many Christians is the Lord’s prayer. Get a revolutionary new Jewish reading of it in my book on the Jewishness of Jesus.)
6. Waiting for Us: The good we missed last year waits for us still. Eternal God, give us the eyes to see it, the ears to hear and the heart to find it. Amen
7. Strength: God, we do not ask for a life of ease and comfort. We simply ask to be uncomplaining and unafraid. May you give us that strength for the New Year.
8. The Possibility for Change: The Hebrew word for “year” also means “change.” Change is a possibility for each us. May we embrace that possibility for change within ourselves, change within our families, change within our communities, and change within our world.
9. Change is inevitable: Growth is not. It depends on our will, our hopes, our dreams. And it rests on Your Grace. Give us an extra portion of it, so that we may fill the New Year with your Presence. Amen
10. Presence: The greatest gift we can give to others and You can give to us, Oh God, is Presence. May we be present for others during the coming year, and may You bless us with Your presence at every moment. Amen.
Once again, here's the link to my favorite way of finding clarity in the new year. With warmest wishes,
