1 Timothy 6:3 If anyone teaches differently and does not agree to the sound precepts of our Lord Yeshua the Messiah and to the doctrine that is in keeping with godliness, 4 he is swollen with conceit and understands nothing. Instead, he has a morbid desire for controversies and word-battles, out of which come jealousy, dissension, insults, evil suspicions, 5 and constant wrangling among people whose minds no longer function properly and who have been deprived of the truth, so that they imagine that religion is a road to riches. 6 Now true religion does bring great riches, but only to those who are content with what they have. 7 For we have brought nothing into the world; and we can take nothing out of it; 8 so if we have food and clothing, we will be satisfied with these. 9 Furthermore, those whose goal is to be rich fall into temptation; they get trapped in many foolish and hurtful ambitions which plunge them into ruin and destruction. 10 For the love of money is a root of all the evils; because of this craving, some people have wandered away from the faith and pierced themselves to the heart with many pains.
-------
The key to contentment is not to be found in material wealth. In Paul’s day false teachers used their religious profession as a means to financial gain. Paul warns Timothy against their influence and about the dangers associated with making the pursuit of wealth the objective of life. Those who love money are led away from their faith and they are unable to find contentment always desiring more. Instead, Timothy is encouraged to pursue that which is of greater value, godliness (Holiness) marked with contentment (Holy Loving and Living).
The key to contentment in this life is to rely upon God for everything we need. Godliness (Holiness) marked with contentment (Holy Loving and Living) is impossible without the assurance that comes from God’s provision. We are challenged like Timothy to live in daily trust and dependence upon the One who is able to provide what we truly need. The One who has given us eternal life is more capable of supplying our daily need.
When we place our trust in God we are able to live content in any circumstance we may face, because we know that He will provide. May we continue to place our trust in Him every day, for the One in whom we trust is able.

Hymn for today:
"Satisfied" by Clara T. Williams
-------
1. All my life I had a longing
For a drink from some clear spring,
That I hoped would quench the burning
Of the thirst I felt within.
Refrain:
Hallelujah! I have found Him
Whom my soul so long has craved!
Jesus satisfies my longings,
Through His blood I now am saved.
2. Feeding on the husks around me,
Till my strength was almost gone,
Longed my soul for something better,
Only still to hunger on.
Refrain:
Hallelujah! I have found Him
Whom my soul so long has craved!
Jesus satisfies my longings,
Through His blood I now am saved.
3. Poor I was, and sought for riches,
Something that would satisfy,
But the dust I gathered round me
Only mocked my soul’s sad cry.
Refrain:
Hallelujah! I have found Him
Whom my soul so long has craved!
Jesus satisfies my longings,
Through His blood I now am saved.
4. Well of water, ever springing,
Bread of life so rich and free,
Untold wealth that never faileth,
My Redeemer is to me.
Refrain:
Hallelujah! I have found Him
Whom my soul so long has craved!
Jesus satisfies my longings,
Through His blood I now am saved.
Thought for Today:
Moreover, God has the power to provide you with every gracious gift in abundance, so that always in every way you will have all you need yourselves and be able to provide abundantly for every good cause —(2 Corinthians 9:8)
Please pray:
That many people in Zimbabwe will come to know Yeshua the Messiah and receive the fullness of the ruach HaKodesh.
