Greetings RezDowntowners,
I hope this message finds you doing well. It has been a great week at Resurrection Downtown. After spending the past two weeks preaching in Leawood, I miss and look forward to seeing you in person this weekend. This Saturday and Sunday, Pastor Adam will kick off a new three-week sermon series on the 500th anniversary of the Protestant Reformation. It will be a worldwide story - I hope you'll join us in worship over the next several weeks.
In addition to a new sermon series, I want to draw your attention to few things that are happening next weekend in the life of our church. First, I want to be sure that all of our RezDads are aware of next Saturday's gathering. RezDads will meet Saturday, October 28 at 9 am to hear from speaker, father and leader, Mike Testman. Mike will share on parenting and leadership; I hope you'll join me in participating. Later that weekend, we will celebrate Halloween and all things "Fall" at RezDT! We invite the children to come to church wearing their Halloween costumes and will host a Trunk or Treat after our 9 am and 10:45 am Sunday morning worship services out in the parking lot. We will also have Fall treats available for everyone else as a way of celebrating Halloween (or what we in the church refer to as Reformation Day)! I hope you'll make plans and invite friends to join us!
Lastly, I want to be sure that you know about our upcoming Volunteer Celebration Night! This Wednesday evening, we will share our newest RezDowntown t-shirt with all of our volunteers as a way of celebrating the life and volunteer spirit of this community, which depends on over 400 volunteers every month. If you are interested in serving, volunteering and helping us continue to build Christian community in the heart of our city, please join us Wednesday night for a great celebration and t-shirt. Register for this great event here, or email Shannon.Endicott@cor.org with questions.
I look forward to seeing you this weekend in worship and hope you have a happy Friday full of God's Peace.
Pastor Scott
