Reflecting God – Embrace Holy Living - WordAction - The Foundry Publishing House of Kansas City, Missouri, United States - The Global Church of the Nazarene for Sunday, 12 November 2017 "Together Glorify God" by Rudy Morgan - Psalm 34:1-10
Psalm 34:1 (0) By David, when he pretended to be insane before Avimelekh, who then drove him away; so he left:
2 (1) I will bless Adonai at all times;
his praise will always be in my mouth.
3 (2) When I boast, it will be about Adonai;
the humble will hear of it and be glad.
4 (3) Proclaim with me the greatness of Adonai;
let us exalt his name together.
5 (4) I sought Adonai, and he answered me;
he rescued me from everything I feared.
6 (5) They looked to him and grew radiant;
their faces will never blush for shame.
7 (6) This poor man cried; Adonai heard
and saved him from all his troubles.
8 (7) The angel of Adonai, who encamps
around those who fear him, delivers them.
9 (8) Taste, and see that Adonai is good.
How blessed are those who take refuge in him!
10 (9) Fear Adonai, you holy ones of his,
for those who fear him lack nothing.

Worship freely, brothers and sisters in Christ! Worship God privately and publically and bring great glory to Him! Each believer in community needs to be a part of always believing and living like David: “I will extol the LORD at all times; his praise will always be on my lips” (v. 1). Each psalm is a poem, a song of brokenness, gratitude, praise, or worship to our God, written by diverse authors.
Peter Schaeffer aptly wrote, “Without worship you shrink; it is as brutal as that.” The late Kenneth Grider in A Wesleyan-Holiness Theology says, “When we worship, we are recognizing ‘worthship’ in a Being far higher than ourselves.”* Glory to God forever!
God responds to intercessory prayer in worship. The Scriptures say, “I sought the LORD, and he answered me; he delivered me from all my fears. Those who look to him are radiant; their faces are never covered with shame” (vv. 4-5).
Worshiping and glorifying God brings joy and strength to believers to care for each other. This encourages unity among believers and spiritual growth. The psalmist says, "Taste and see that the Lord is good; blessed is the one who takes refuge in Him" (verse 8). Let us glorify God together.

Hymn for Today:
"I Will Praise Him" by Margaret J. Harris
1. When I saw the cleansing fountain,
Open wide for all my sin,
I obeyed the Spirit’s wooing
When He said, “Wilt thou be clean?”
Refrain: I will praise Him! I will praise Him!
Praise the Lamb for sinners slain;
Give Him glory, all ye people,
For His blood can wash away each stain.
2. Tho' the way seems straight and narrow,
All I claimed was swept away;
My ambitions, plans and wishes,
At my feet in ashes lay.
Refrain: I will praise Him! I will praise Him!
Praise the Lamb for sinners slain;
Give Him glory, all ye people,
For His blood can wash away each stain.
3. Blessed be the name of Jesus!
I’m so glad He took me in;
He’s forgiven my transgressions,
He has cleansed my heart from sin.
Refrain: I will praise Him! I will praise Him!
Praise the Lamb for sinners slain;
Give Him glory, all ye people,
For His blood can wash away each stain.
4. Glory, glory to the Father!
Glory, glory to the Son!
Glory, glory to the Spirit!
Glory to the Three in One!
Refrain: I will praise Him! I will praise Him!
Praise the Lamb for sinners slain;
Give Him glory, all ye people,
For His blood can wash away each stain.

Thought for Today:
How blessed is the man who perseveres through temptation! For after he has passed the test, he will receive as his crown the Life which God has promised to those who love him.(James 1:12)
