I recently saw a post on Facebook that showed a video of Chris Pratt’s acceptance speech at the MTV Movie and TV Awards. He was the recipient for the “Generation Award” and in his speech he shared nine nuggets of wisdom to the next generation where four out of the nine nuggets were gospel centered. If you have a chance, I would encourage you to watch the video because it’s both funny and inspiring.
I’ve been doing a lot of thinking about evangelism lately (probably because Jeremy’s been preaching A LOT about sharing Christ with others). The beautiful but challenging part about evangelism is that it doesn’t have just one form. There’s not just one way to do it. Sometimes I wish there was a cookie cutter way to win people to Christ, but there isn’t. God made us each uniquely and with that evangelism will look different for each one of us.
One thing that we do know for certain about evangelism is that every person who considers themselves a Christian is supposed to be doing it. With that in mind, my question for you today is what does it look like for YOU to evangelize? We are each given a platform – whether it is with our own families, fellow co-workers, neighborhoods, friends or even strangers. God has intentionally placed us where He wants us to have influence. Are we using our influence for His glory? Are we openly telling people that we are Christ followers? Are we sharing the hope, love and grace that Christ has extended to us and desires for the unsaved in our influence to experience through us?
I want to encourage you to get out there and evangelize. I have to confess that in the past, fear has kept me from sharing Christ with others. But recently, I’ve seen the importance of getting outside myself, my agenda, my schedule and allowing the Lord to lead me and work through me. What is your platform? Chris Pratt used his to share with others the grace that Christ extends? Will you join me TODAY in doing the same?

Coming Up At Mount Carmel
Missions Focus for Month of June:
This is the last week we will receive an offering for World Mission Broadcast. 100% of what comes in goes directly to this mission field. Below we have included just a few of their historic highlights.
WMB Historic Highlights:
- 1944: General Assembly voted to create the Nazarene Radio League.
- 1945: Showers of Blessing - the first Nazarene English radio program is broadcast in the US. Three shortwave radio stations pick up the broadcasts and air them outside the U.S.
- 1951: NWMS takes on the project of promoting Spanish Broadcast offerings.
- 1952: The first Spanish radio program La Hora Nazarena, is aired with Dr. H. T. Reza as host.
- 1960 - 1993 Broadcasts began in the following locations: India, Verde Islands, most Portuguese speaking countries, French-Canada, France, South Africa, Venezuela, Costa Rica, Russia, Jordan. Broadcasts were also expanded to include languages such as Japanese, Italian, Zulu, Afrikaans, Mandarin, Creole, Indonesian, Korean, Chinese, Spanish, and Arabic.
- 1993: Eurasia Communications Center opened on the campus of European Nazarene Bible College.
- 1994: Asia-Pacific Region is fully operational in Manila.
- 1997: Communications centers are established in Miami for the Caribbean Region, Buenos Aires for the South America Region, and Guatemala City for the Mexico/Central America Region.
- 1999: Name is changed to World Evangelism Broadcast to accommodate other forms of communication such as TV, video, and Internet.
- 2003: The Church of the Nazarene's General Board votes to change the name to World Mission Broadcast. With the volatile political and religious climate in the world, the word "evangelism" in the name of an organization has potential to put missionaries and national Christian workers in danger.
- 2003: Mujer Valiosa (The Valued Woman) saturates Latin American radio and television.
- 2009: A new WMB program, Aktar Min Kalam, premiers on Arabic television.
Thank you to everyone who spent time and money making last Sunday a wonderful Father's day for the men in our church.
