Greetings Resurrection Blue Springs!
By the time you read this I will be somewhere over the ocean on our way to Malawi with our team of eight from Blue Springs. We will be traveling together with another group of five from Leawood who are on a medical mission.
We will be traveling to Madisi where we will meet the church leadership, worship and fellowship with the congregation on Sunday. After worship we’ll visit the Resurrection sponsored farm where we’ll be learning about dry season gardening. This information we’ll be sharing over the next several days in six different villages as we work in community gardens. Toward the end of the week, we’ll visit a clinic and meet our Zoe empowerment group. This is the orphan group that our Blue Springs campus is sponsoring. You can follow our journey, as were able to post, on the mission blog site.
I’m excited for this experience and the relationships that will form as we seek to do life impacting work. I have found these experiences to be so valuable and a great opportunity for spiritual growth. I encourage all of you to consider taking a trip. This weekend in worship we'll have an insert that will let you know of all the possibilities. We have trips to Costa Rica, Haiti, Honduras, Malawi and South Africa, plus disaster response trips to Puerto Rico.
This Sunday Pastor Scott Chrostek will be continuing our summer sermon series on The Gospel in Film. He’ll be looking for the Christian parallels in the blockbuster super hero movie Black Panther in a sermon entitled ”Hiding in Plain Sight. Invite a friend and join us for another great weekend in worship.

Get ready for the Back to School Drive – July 15 – July 29
Team up with Resurrection Downtown to provide school supplies for our partner school, Wendell Phillips Elementary. We will also collect items for the school’s Tiger Store which provides incentives for students for attendance, behavior and meeting their reading goals. Pick up a bag at Guest Services on July 15 to fill with school supplies listed on the bag (approximately $35/bag). Don’t have time to shop? Simply donate any amount for items we will purchase in bulk.
Summer rezlife News
Summer Volleyball – Each Sunday evening at 6:30 pm, we will meet for volleyball on the sand courts at Wilbur Young Park (next to Blue Springs South High School). Open to youth and adults. Come join the fun!
July 15- 6:30 pm. rezlife will be hosting a Black Panther movie night for all of the youth. We want to welcome our new 6th graders and hope to see them there!
Play Dates at the Park
Have some fun with KiDSCOR this summer at our Playdates in the Park! We will meet at 9 am at different parks throughout the summer so the kids
can play and parents can mingle! Bring your kids, friends and neighbors too!
