"Too Charmed" for Pastor H. Lamar Smith
“I am resolved no longer to linger, charmed by the world’s delight; Things that are higher, things that are nobler – These have allured my sight” (Palmer Hartsough). The lights have captured our attention. Materialism has led captive the people of God. Secularism seems more alluring than a Christian cross. Pleasure continues to paralyze us. The world’s heroes seem more significant than the Man of Galilee. Do not be charmed. We are called to that which is higher.
“Since, then, you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things above, where Christ is seated at the right hand of God. Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things.” (Colossians 3:1-2 (NIV))
