Hello Resurrection Blue Springs,
I want to take this opportunity to thank everyone who volunteered and/or participated in our Holy Week activities. It was an amazing week, beginning with our Easter Party, Palm Sunday service, Maundy Thursday meal and service, Good Friday prayers and culminated in pancakes and a joyous Easter celebration on Sunday. We had well over 200 children and adults participate in the Easter egg hunt, we filled all the tables at the Maundy Thursday service and had over 530 in worship on Sunday. I can't tell you what a joy it was to stand up on Easter Sunday and shout "Christ is Risen!" and hear your rousing response, "He is Risen indeed!"
We couldn't have provided all these opportunities to connect with God and offer this kind of radical hospitality to our community without the many hands that filled eggs, led crafts and games, cooked, cleaned, stacked and unstacked chairs, read scripture, sang songs, served at tables, set up prayer stations, ushered, greeted, watched our babies and delivered mugs and all the many other tasks that I haven't mentioned. I thank you all for your faithful service this past week. God is truly at work in our community!
This Sunday I have the privilege of offering the concluding message in our series, "The Gospel of the Nobodies." We'll be taking a look at the Walk to Emmaus story in the final chapter of Luke and turning our attention to the discouraged and disbelieving followers. We'll see how Jesus' triumph over death and his resurrection effected his care for the "nobodies" and get a few tips on how to improve our eyesight.
I want to encourage you to take a look at the classes and activities coming up in the next couple of weeks. We have several new class offerings, a blood drive, a chance to join Resurrection at Coffee with the Pastor and the kick off of a new ministry for moms. All great places to step in and get further connected to the life of our community.
You'll find more information below about these upcoming events:

Too often Christians may experience a changed mind about God, or even a changed heart toward God, without having a changed life with God. Where is the breakdown between belief and discipleship? Why isn’t the transformative power of the gospel more apparent in the daily workings of our lives? In The Good and Beautiful God, James Bryan Smith helps us discard the flawed narratives of our hearts and replace them with the truths God reveals in his word about himself, the Christian life and his Church. This deep and transformative book will help you discover the narratives that Jesus lived by. Get to know the God Jesus knew and the Kingdom he proclaimed. The Good and Beautiful God book will be available for purchase at our bookstand next week or you can purchase from your favorite retailer. Register here.
Learn, Grow and Serve with Building Better Moms! Enjoy fellowship and fun with moms who can relate to your daily joys and challenges.
