Greetings RezDowntowners,
I hope this message finds you doing well today. As we prepare for another great weekend in worship I find myself getting really excited about tomorrow's Faithwork Saturday! I hope you'll consider joining me as we venture out into the city to put our faith to work serving at a variety of locations and mission partners within Kansas City. This is one of the ways that we are celebrating Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'s legacy of social justice and transformational ministry. We'll be meeting at the church at 9:00am and by 9:15, we'll deploy people out into the community to serve. We'll also have activities at the church to serve that will give all of our families and kids an opportunity to participate as well. I hope you'll invite friends and join me tomorrow morning.
This weekend in worship we'll continue our sermon series on Facing the Issues that Divide by focusing in on Immigration and Refugees. We will be hosting our regular weekend worship schedule with services on Saturday evening at 5:10pm at 1522 McGee, and Sunday at 9:00, 10:15 (Grand), 10:45 a.m., and then again on Sunday evening at5:00pm. Given the Chiefs playoff schedule and our worship attendance patterns we are expecting larger than normal worship attendance, therefore I am asking you to consider worshiping at either one of our evening services on Saturday or Sunday, or at our worship services on Grand at 10:15am. After each one of our worship services this weekend at all of our locations we'll be equipping people with the ability to register to vote.
I am looking forward to this weekend in worship and to seeing you as we continue building Christian community in the heart of this city. In the meantime, below you’ll find a variety of ways to connect to the life of this church:
