A few months ago, I made a leap of faith.

Every night, when I lay my son in his crib, my love for him swells up in my heart - and then fear lodges in my throat when I think about him coming of age. This election year, it feels like fear and hate threatens to swallow America whole.
I can't protect him from the fires of life; I can only try to give him a better world. But after 15 years as an activist, I'm tired of fighting in reaction to the latest tragedy. I want solutions rooted in love.
So I left my job at Stanford Law School, bundled up my son, and traveled from coast to coast to listen to audiences. I discovered I was not alone. People everywhere want to know: How can we make love a public ethic in American life?
The remarkable stories I heard inspired me to create The Revolutionary Love ™ Project -- to harness the ethic of love to drive courageous action in our lives and in our politics.
I got a call from my friend Glennon Doyle Melton, an author and activist who has a story that will melt your heart. She asked if I would join her on stage to bring the message of revolutionary love to the nation on a live events tour right before the election.
I said, "YES, Sister!"
Today I'm proud to announce the Together Tour -- a 6 city tour in September and October featuring Glennon Doyle Melton, Seane Corne, and me, along with Rev. Jacqui Lewis--a singing, preaching force of nature-- and the Together Tour's surprise guests. We are coming to Los Angeles, New York, Chicago, Portland, Atlanta, and Denver this fall.

It will be a magical night. We will come together for an inspiring night of storytelling and healing on the eve of the most high-stakes election in history. But even after the night is done, we won't just pack up and leave. We will stay together in circles to build communities and collaborative action.

These days, when I put my son to sleep at night and the love swells up in my heart, I can still feel the fear in my throat. But it doesn't hurt as much anymore.
Because I know I'm not alone - when we come together, love is like the warm water that melts the fear and ambivalence frozen inside us. Love can make us brave enough to act -- in the voting booth and beyond.
