Dear Hearts,
I will be subbing for Kay this Sunday - here are the questions.
Hearts Class Sunday Oct 23
We will finish with Part 2 – I believe the following questions are ones we have not yet addressed.
  1. p. 37 What is excess? What is enough? What is sufficient”?
  2. P. 41 How does one go about letting go of the ego self and finding the “no one”?
  3. P 42 What are the 3 demons in our personal wilderness?
  4. p. 44 We must love both sides. How can this happen?
  5. p. 45 What are our steps in taking joy in imperfection?
For Part 3 let’s consider the following
  1. p. 46 suffering and prayer – the 2 golden paths. If I choose prayer, will that change how I see suffering?
  2. p. 48 suffering for and with the other seems to be the only way we can know that our lives are not about us. Do I have to suffer first before I can recognize suffering in others; before I can feel empathy? How does this apply to how we see…the poor….the radical…
  3. p. 49 you must drink of the cup…the law can give you correct information, but only God’s spirit of love can transform you. Do we have to be transformed before we have a message, or does the message transform us?
  4. p. 50-51 the importance of powerlessness, of having no control. That space creates faith. What is it about lack of control that is so difficult for us?
  5. p. 51 symbolic [throw together] vs diabolic [ throw apart]. Healthy religion [re-ligio = to bind back together] gives images of reconciliation. How healthy is our religion?
I look forward to our usual deep and spirited discussion.
