As we approach Pentecost Sunday, May 20th, and conclude the final two weeks of phase 2 of the Council of Bishop’s Praying Our Way Forward Initiative, we join in this prayer written by Bishop Reuben P. Job based on Psalm 85:
“Ever-patient God, you have indeed been kind to us. Your forgiveness opens the way to a new future, your goodness brightens our days, and your truth shows us the things that make for peace. Thank you that in Jesus Christ your salvation has come near to us, for he is the peace that heals our wounded world. Amen.” (A Guide to Prayer for All Who Walk with God (Upper Room Books, 2013) p. 199.)
