Who Can Help Me With a Rare Disease?
U.S. News and World Report | July 2, 2018
"Patients with rare diseases often bounce from doctor to doctor...looking for answers. Global Genes, a rare disease advocacy nonprofit, reports that 'patients living with rare disease visit an average of 7.3 physicians before receiving an accurate diagnosis,' a process that takes an average of 4.8 years. Because so many rare diseases are progressive in nature, delaying diagnosis means a delay in treatment."

Kiplinger | July 2, 2018

Some with early symptoms are speaking out, hoping to counter dementia's stigma and pursue a higher quality of life. Advocates are pushing for more life-enhancing kinds of care, such as tools and resources for the recently diagnosed to make the best of their remaining strengths."
