Reflecting God - Embrace Holy Living from The Global church of the Nazarene of Lenexa, Kansas, United States for Saturday, 25 April 2015 - "God Provides" Scripture: Philippians 4:4 Rejoice in union with the Lord always! I will say it again: rejoice! 5 Let everyone see how reasonable and gentle you are. The Lord is near! 6 Don’t worry about anything; on the contrary, make your requests known to God by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving. 7 Then God’s shalom, passing all understanding, will keep your hearts and minds safe in union with the Messiah Yeshua. 8 In conclusion, brothers, focus your thoughts on what is true, noble, righteous, pure, lovable or admirable, on some virtue or on something praiseworthy. 9 Keep doing what you have learned and received from me, what you have heard and seen me doing; then the God who gives shalom will be with you.
10 In union with the Lord I greatly rejoice that now, after this long time, you have let your concern for me express itself again. Of course, you were concerned for me all along, but you had no opportunity to express it. 11 Not that I am saying this to call attention to any need of mine; since, as far as I am concerned, I have learned to be content regardless of circumstances. 12 I know what it is to be in want, and I know what it is to have more than enough — in everything and in every way I have learned the secret of being full and being hungry, of having abundance and being in need.

"
God Provides" by Author: Mary Egidio
A young couple arrived at seminary with only a few dollars in their pockets. God had graciously provided the money for their move, and had opened the door for housing and employment. Now the only thing they needed was a stove for cooking. They managed by using a small heating unit, or by sharing the generosity of their neighbors, until they could purchase a used stove. Soon, however, they realized the stove’s oven wasn’t heating properly. “I guess I’ll have to start praying for another stove,” the wife said.
The very next day she was approached by a co-worker. “What’s your stove situation?” Barb inquired. When she heard about the non-working oven, she said, “We just remodeled our kitchen and replaced the appliances. I’d like to give you my stove.” It was just another way God provided for that young couple’s needs, and helped them grow in their faith.
Often, before we even begin praying, God is sending the answer. We can rest in His peace today. He’s already sending what we need.
HYmn for Today: "God Answers Prayer" by Ken Bible
1. God answers prayer in the morning;
God answers prayer through the day;
God answers prayer in the evening?
He hears every time you pray.
2. Talk to the Lord in the morning;
Talk to the Lord through the day;
Talk to the Lord in the evening?
He's near, and He knows your name.
3. Jesus is love in the morning;
Jesus is love through the day;
Jesus is love in the evening?
You don't have to be afraid;
Just turn to Him now and pray
