Greetings RezDowntowners,
I am so proud to serve as the pastor of Resurrection Downtown. Over the past month, you not only met our goal of supplying diapers for 100 children in need throughout the Kansas City area, but you more than doubled it by supplying diapers for 229 children in Kansas City. Your faithful generosity is a blessing beyond belief for those children and their families, but it is also a tangible way of transforming this city into a reflection of Thy kingdom come. Thank you for your unbelievable and consistent generosity. I am so proud to be your pastor as you consistently come through to care for the littlest ones in our community! I also want to thank those of you who volunteered to serve in our KidsCOR program at least once a month. I was excited to see so many people step forward (approximately 40 of you) to serve in that way. Thank you for making RezDowntown a place where children can experience the grace and peace of Jesus Christ. We always have needs for more people to serve, if you’re interested in participating in our KidsCOR, please email Kris.Drummond@cor.org.
This weekend, I’m excited to share that we are continuing in our sermon series on God and Baseball. I’ll be spending most of my time this week focusing on the importance of practice. I had the privilege of interviewing Jason Adam this week, who is a member of the church and a promising pitching prospect for the first-place Minnesota Twins. I’m really excited to share his story along with several other stories from some other big leaguers. I hope you’ll invite friends and join us.
Lastly, tonight is shaping up to be a great night in downtown Kansas City. It is First Fridays and we’ll have a group of people handing out cookies on the corner of 20th and Baltimore. They’ll be sharing the story of our church along with invitations for people to join us. If you’re looking for something to do, please join them or at least stop by to say ‘Hi,’ and enjoy some of the best creativity this city has to offer by being apart of First Fridays. If you would like to take part in First Fridays for the church in the coming months, please email me and I’ll be happy to get you plugged in!
In the meantime, here are a variety of ways to get plugged into the life of our church.
