Weekly eNote from Pastor Jason Gant for Thursday 11 January 2018 - The United Methodist Church of the Resurrection West in Olathe, Kansas, United States

Weekly eNote from Pastor Jason Gant for Thursday 11 January 2018 -
The United Methodist Church of the Resurrection West in Olathe, Kansas, United States

Resurrection West,
The new year has begun and my hope is your considering how you will grow in your spiritual life this year? What smaller group, class, or study will you consider to participate in? Where will you serve God inside and outside the walls of RezWest? I’m excited for what God will do through our church in 2018 and your engagement is critical.
Last Sunday we experienced an incredible attendance with over 1,100 in worship and our largest 5pm service ever with 245 - plus over 75 participating in our Tuesday night companion study to the series. My hope is that commitment will continue as we make worship a high priority in our life together. Pastor Adam continues this Sunday with the Christianity & World Religions series taking a closer look at Hinduism. What do they believe and why? When did this religion begin? What can we learn from this religion? This is a great series to invite anyone who has ever wondered about religious history, the practices of different faiths, and how our Christianity can be strengthened through this knowledge.
Finally, it was my honor to offer the Invocation at the Olathe City Council session this past week as new council members were sworn in. Each then offered their hopes for the city and gratitude for the opportunity to serve the people of Olathe. I found my heart filled with gratitude for the opportunity to serve God and the people of RezWest. I consider it a true joy to serve this community of faith. Thank you for your commitment alongside me to grow in faith and live into God’s mission for us. May God be praised and the world be changed because of our efforts!
Looking forward to worshipping with you on Sunday,
Jason
