Happy Thanksgiving Dear Friend, Thanksgiving is the time of year when we come together with our family and our community to celebrate the achievements we have built together. It is a time when we show our gratitude for the good in our lives and share our hopes for the year to come. For the first time in more than a decade, California experienced a surplus in the state budget. This surplus allowed us to reinvest in health care, education, affordable housing and good jobs. I am grateful that this added security allows Californians to focus on the things that are most important to them: their families and communities. While I'm confident the state has turned around, I'm still reminded that we have more work to do. As I continue to serve constituents in the 78th District, I'm reminded how honored I am to be your representative - a position I don't take for granted. Thanksgiving, of course, is also about fabulous feasts, family and football. I look forward to enjoying the celebrations with family and friends, and hope you have the opportunity to do the same.
