SUNDAYWe're now six sessions into the 10-session study of the Gospel of John.
8.9. The humble God
John chapters 13-14. Read both chapters aloud in class.
Features: Jesus washes feet of disciples, predicts his betrayal & Peter’s denial, “I am the Way,” Jesus promises Holy Spirit.
A few discussion questions:
Q. What is one of the most humble things you’ve see a fellow Christian do?
Q. Is there anything in Jesus’ response to betrayal by Judas that we can tuck away and use when we’re betrayed?
Q. 14:14. “Ask me anything in my name and I will do it?” Is Jesus talking to the disciples, to us, or both?

John chapters 15-16. Read both chapters aloud in class.
Features: JC is true vine, JC says the world hates us, JC describes the work of the Holy Spirit, JC says sadness will be turned to joy.
8.23. Steve Miller. Jesus prayed for me
John chapters 17-18. Read both chapters aloud in class.
Features: The prayer of Jesus for all of his disciples, then and now. JC arrested, tried. Peter’s denial.
8.30. Terry Bahadur. Temporarily dead
John chapters 19-21. Read all 3 chapters aloud in class.
Features: Crucifixion, burial, resurrection of Jesus.
Second Sunday Social: order inLinda Miller, the RezChat social administrator, says on Sunday we'll meet in the trailer/annex after the second worship service and we'll eat some food we order in.
She says we'll decide before or after class where we want to place our orders. Pizza, subs, frog legs...
Free book
I just got some giveaway copies of my August release, A Quick Guided Tour Through the Bible.
I've made it a practice of giving a copy to each RezChat family. I gave out some copies last week, I'll have more tomorrow for those who weren't able to join us last week.
If you get a chance, consider posting a short sentence or two as a review on a site that sells the books, such as Amazon. People thinking about getting a book actually do read those things. Thanks.
Culling the mailing list
We have about twice as many people subscribed to this RezChat newsletter as we have people regularly attending RezChat.
So it's no surprise that only about half the subscribers actually open up the newsletter to read it.
I think it's time to trim the list. Spring Cleaning in August.
