PRAISES:
Lost in Darkness
Praise God for this testimony from Africa: “My name is Dao Ousseni. I was born in an eastern community in Burkina Faso and I practiced an alternate religion for 12-years, but I was still in darkness. I walked without Jesus. I was lost and when I came to see the film of JESUS, his words touched me and I decided to give my life to Him as my savior. Thank you Jesus, I am saved by your grace.” Click here to learn more about Nazarene JESUS Film teams and JESUS Film Harvest Partners.

GLOBAL MINISTRY REQUESTS
Dominica Recovery
Tropical Storm Erica hit the Caribbean island of Dominica on August 27 causing mudslides and flooding. Nazarene missionaries in Dominica, Steve and Amanda Pettit, say, “We have officially heard from all six of our churches and praise the Lord, nobody was lost! However, the reality is that four of our churches have been cut off from any outside help. The churches tell us clean water and food will be their greatest need.” Pray for the people in Dominica who are suffering and that aid will reach them quickly. Clickhere to read the NCN News article. You can also find the latest updates from Dominica on the NCM Facebook page.
September Missionary Prayer Focus
Please pray for the following requests from missionaries who are part of the September Prayer Focus:
Lucas and Liz Gentry, serving at the Cactus Ministries Center*, Cactus, Texas, USA
Pray for us as we teach English classes. Ask God to give us wisdom in teaching and interacting with many different cultures. Our classes include 57 students who are from 7 different countries and speak 9 different languages.
Pray that the English as a Second Language (ESL) program will begin to bridge cultural gaps and build relationships between the different culture groups in the area.
Our greatest need is for volunteers. Please be praying that the Lord will raise up more childcare workers, teachers, assistants, snack servers, and substitutes so our program can meet the community's needs.*The Cactus Ministries Center serves a diverse population in their community, providing English classes, childcare, and other community outreach. GLOBAL CONCERNS – BODY OF CHRIST
Praying for the Persecuted
From our friends at Open Doors ministry, here are a few ways to pray for persecuted Christians:
North Korea–Pray for prison camp guards who are surrounded by Christians, that they might see Jesus in the ones they torture for proclaiming his name.
Algeria–Pray for Algerian believers who are persecuted by their family members.
Laos–Pray for believers who are imprisoned for evangelizing or rejecting animistic beliefs. Pray that they would be comforted and instructed by the Holy Spirit.
Somalia–As Kenya is attempting to return Somali refugees to their homes, pray that God would increase the faith of his remnant of Somali believers.

PRAY FOR
Dominica Recovery
Tropical Storm Erica hit the Caribbean island of Dominica on August 27 causing mudslides and flooding. Of the island’s 70,000 inhabitants, more than 20,000 people have been affected, at least 20 died, and more than 50 are missing. Nazarene missionaries in Dominica, Steve and Amanda Pettit, say, “We have officially heard from all six of our churches and praise the Lord, nobody was lost! However, the reality is that four of our churches have been cut off from any outside help due bridges and roads being overtaken by landslides. The churches tell us clean water and food will be their greatest need.” Pray for the people in Dominica who are suffering. Pray that aid will reach them quickly. Pray for our missionaries and leaders in Dominica who experienced the terror brought by the devastating storm and now reach out to help others.
