Updates and Letter from the (new) Editor
Hey Families of The Naz Youth Group,
Jeremy here writing to you from the office of San Diego First Church of the Nazarene's youth ministry. With the departure of Charlie Merritt I am stepping in as the "voice" of our E-blast. If there is any content that's missing, or you would like more information regarding an event or weekly meeting, please don't hesitate to reach out and let me know. At all times, we want to provide the highest quality of content and also keep you informed with what is going on. If you have ideas for how we can improve in this area, please don't be shy.
Our desire in this next season is to shift our weekly E-blast from being purely announcement-driven to also having elements of a newsletter. We've realized that there are so many good stories that happen in a given week or year that we want to get better at sharing those stories. Thanks for being on this journey with us.
Blessings,
Jeremy Schultheiss.

RECAP: Youth Staff Retreat
This weekend our team's of youth staff, both Mid and Sr High, went on retreats to rest, bond, pray, and learn how to be the best youth staff we can be. Both groups had incredible weekends. Sr High stayed local and Mid High went up to a home in Julian. We are currently blessed with 40 adults that have said "yes" to showing up in the lives of teens in Point Loma and Ocean Beach. We are so grateful for our amazing volunteers and encourage you to take time to get to know your child's small group leader!

Specific Ways to Give & Serve
Summer Camp Scholarships: We try our best to keep our Youth Group activities and events free or at a low cost; but sometimes it is difficult for a family to afford sending their teen(s). This year we gave over $10,000 in scholarships for students to attend winter camp, Elevate, and summer camps. We begin fundraising almost as soon as camp is over. If you would like to give a one-time donation or a monthly donation towards student scholarships talk to Jeremy or Rick!
Serve at the Mid High Carnival:
THIS week during Mid High youth group we are doing a carnival complete with games, prizes, cotton candy, and decorations. We need a few parent volunteers to help with serving popcorn, cotton candy, running a booth, and tearing-down. Let Jeremy know if you would like to help!
