"Memorial Day: Day 1" for Tuesdsy, 22 May 2018 - gotandem
"Memorial Day: Day 1"
"Then those who feared the LORD spoke with each other, and the LORD listened to what they said. In his presence, a scroll of remembrance was written to record the names of those who feared him and always thought about the honor of his name. "Malachi 3:16)
Memorial Day is coming up. It's a day that's traditionally celebrated by picnics, grilling, and every so often a stroll through the cemetery to remember the people who gave up their lives for our freedom. It's a sobering thought.
And it's an important holiday. But as believers, I think we're missing an opportunity.
These next 5 days we want to you to discover the Bible's deep history of remembrance. And as you do, we hope that you'll be able to make this year's Memorial Day celebration even more meaningful.

"Following" for Tuexday, 22 May 2018 - gotandem
I believe in your commands;
now teach me good judgment and knowledge.
I used to wander off until you disciplined me;
but now I closely follow your word.
(Psalm 119:66-67)
What makes the psalmist follow God's Word?
Have you ever felt that God was disciplining you? When?

"Heavenly Storage" for Monday, 21 May 2018 - gotandem
"Don't store up treasures here on earth, where moths eat them and rust destroys them, and where thieves break in and steal. Store your treasures in heaven, where moths and rust cannot destroy, and thieves do not break in and steal. Wherever your treasure is, there the desires of your heart will also be." (Matthew 6:19-21)
Do you think you have too much stuff? Why?

"Treasure Finder" fkr Monday, 21 May 2018 - gotandem
Tune your ears to wisdom,
and concentrate on understanding.
Cry out for insight,
and ask for understanding.
Search for them as you would for silver;
seek them like hidden treasures.
Then you will understand what it means to fear the LORD,
and you will gain knowledge of God.
(Proverbs 2:2-5)
What is this verse saying about how we should approach God?
Have you ever had trouble discerning God's will? What have you done about it?
