Featured Leadership
“Please continue to pray for me” - Pope Francis
- Meet Robbie Shreffler -

Robbie is the Northern California District President
Robbie Shreffler is the Pastor at San Francisco Chinese Church of the Nazarene and the District NYI President for the Northern California District. He gets the opportunity to serve in one of the most diverse and densely populated cities in America and so his ministry reflects that. His local church and the rest of the churches on the Northern California District demand a different approach to ministry. Together they are forging a new way forward reaching out daily to communities that are a ripe mission field.
Robbie has been married to his with Ashley for over ten years. Together they raise two children; a daughter, Teagan and son, Sawyer.
A few fun facts about Robbie...
Q: Who is your Hero?
A: Desmond Tutu, Oscar Romero, Dietrich Bonhoeffer. Pretty much anyone who has done something to radically follow Jesus in a way that has disrupted the lives of others. Tutu has taught me about forgiveness and reconciliation when the way of the world would have dictated revenge. Romero and Bonhoeffer both spoke out about the injustice and corruption of their respective governments to a point that they were both executed. They have each reminded me that we are not called to just stick to the status quo but to live in a way that reveals the kingdom of God.
Q: What are your Hobbies?
A: I love Karaoke. In the most pastor-y development of my life, I love to golf. I honestly didn’t see that one coming. My other favorites things to do all have to do with family. I love taking my kids to the zoo. Taking half eaten crayons out of my sons mouth. Taking walks with the family to go get dinner somewhere in the neighborhood. And, I love to cook for people.
Q: If I was an animal, what would I be and why?
A: I would be a Tiger or a Panda Bear. Both are large, majestic, powerful animals. People are generally afraid of them. But I’ve watched the nature documentaries and they are really just lazy animals that get easily annoyed at being distracted. That’s a great description of me.
Q: If you had to describe yourself using three words, it would be?
A: Contrarian
