Rekindling a prophetic moral vision for justice, social change and movement building
We’re launching our second week in the Poor People’s Campaign: A National Call for Moral Revival 40 Days of Action, linking systemic racism and poverty through mass incarceration, voting rights, immigration, xenophobia, islamophobia, and the mistreatment of indigenous communities.
Last week, thousands of people gathered in over 30 states and Washington, D.C., with hundreds arrested in nonviolent moral fusion direct action as we challenge and draw attention to the policy violence hurting our communities.
Today, we’re doing it again! The rally and action in Washington, D.C. begins at 2pm EDT at the Capitol, and will be livestreamed at poorpeoplescampaign.org/live. We invite those who can join us in-person to a 10am EDT Nonviolent Moral Fusion Direct Action training at St. Marks Episcopal Church (301 A St SE). More livestreamed events in D.C. this week are highlighted in the email below, including the Truthful Tuesday Teach-In and Thursday's Justice Music & Poetry Night.
