The Daily Guide-The Daily Devotional grow. pray. study. Sunday 27 March 2016 – "Prayer Tip"
Daily Scripture:

John 19:41 In the vicinity of where he had been executed was a garden, and in the garden was a new tomb in which no one had ever been buried. 42 So, because it was Preparation Day for the Judeans, and because the tomb was close by, that is where they buried Yeshua.

20:1 Early on the first day of the week, while it was still dark, Miryam from Magdala went to the tomb and saw that the stone had been removed from the tomb.
John 20:19 In the evening that same day, the first day of the week, when the talmidim were gathered together behind locked doors out of fear of the Judeans, Yeshua came, stood in the middle and said, “Shalom aleikhem!” 20 Having greeted them, he showed them his hands and his side. The talmidim were overjoyed to see the Lord. 21 “Shalom aleikhem!” Yeshua repeated. “Just as the Father sent me, I myself am also sending you.” 22 Having said this, he breathed on them and said to them, “Receive the Ruach HaKodesh!
Prayer Tip:
During these last 40 days of Lent at Resurrection, we’ve focused on John’s Gospel. We’ve dug a little deeper to see Jesus’ divinity. We looked beyond just living like the example he set for us to realize how we can let him live in us, transforming our lives today as he transformed the lives of those who chose to follow him two thousand years ago. We are Easter people, people of the Resurrection. With the darkness of the Crucifixion on Good Friday behind us, we now look forward and focus on the risen Christ this Easter. Join me in praying this prayer written by Rev. Michaela Youngson, a pastor in The Methodist Church in Britain:
When everything was dark
and it seemed that the sun would never shine again,
your love broke through.
Your love was too strong,
too wide,
too deep
for death to hold.
The sparks cast by your love
dance and spread
and burst forth
with resurrection light.
Gracious God,
We praise you for the light of new life
made possible through Jesus.
We praise you for the light of new life
that shone on the first witnesses of resurrection.
We praise you for the light of new life
that continues to shine in our hearts today.
We pray that the Easter light of life, hope and joy,
will live in us each day;
and that we will be bearers of that light
into the lives of others. Amen.[Angela LaVallie, Resurrection Prayer Ministry]
