Hi, RezChat
Okay,once again I'm dog-sitting Buddy
the Dog of the Miller Estate and Tucker of Eck Shire, our grand-dog (dog
son of our daughter Becca and her hubby, Jon).
It is occurring to me as I type this that out of the 4
members of my core family, I am the only one who did not want a dog. Yet
out of all 4, I spend more time with the dogs than any of the others.
Maybe more than all the others combined. Yeah, let's say that.
Not that I'm complaining. It's just that the observation has
occurred to me.
I do enjoy the dogs. They give me a break from writing,
laundry, cooking, dishes...anything on earth that I try to do, actually.
I just finished picking up dog droppings in the backyard, to
beat the snow. So the exercise is good.
And the wrist brace that I use sometimes is drying off from
the hand washing I gave it after Buddy borrowed it from my desk and took
it outside for a chew.
I'll rest soon. The dogs should be dog-tired by then, and
all pooped out.

Sunday's session:
The soldier who shocked Jesus
Terry Bahadur wraps
up our 3-week series: Mega Faith. Next week we start 3 weeks in a series
called "Why
Questions for God Almighty."
Here's the passage for Sunday: Matthew 8:5-13 (The
Message)
5-6 As Jesus entered the village of Capernaum, a Roman captain came up in
a panic and said, “Master, my servant is sick. He can’t walk. He’s in
terrible pain.”
7 Jesus said, “I’ll come and heal him.”
8-9 “Oh, no,” said the captain. “I don’t want to put you to all that
trouble. Just give the order and my servant will be fine. I’m a man who
takes orders and gives orders. I tell one soldier, ‘Go,’ and he goes; to
another, ‘Come,’ and he comes; to my slave, ‘Do this,’ and he does it.”
10-12 Taken aback, Jesus said, “I’ve yet to come across this kind of
simple trust in Israel, the very people who are supposed to know all
about God and how he works. This man is the vanguard of many outsiders
who will soon be coming from all directions—streaming in from the east,
pouring in from the west, sitting down at God’s kingdom banquet alongside
Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. Then those who grew up ‘in the faith’ but had
no faith will find themselves out in the cold, outsiders to grace and
wondering what happened.”
13 Then Jesus turned to the captain and said, “Go. What you believed
could happen has happened.” At that moment his servant became well.
Central
UM church: March 8
Our class will be
fixing and serving a Saturday lunch at Central United Methodist Church in
a week.
The main course will come from the Rock House,
funded by our class treasury.
We need warm bodies to serve the food. And we need the warm
bodies to bring dessert to add to the meal.
We generally meet at the downtown church to set up between
9:30-10 a.m.
Here's the address 933 Argentine Blvd, Kansas City,
KS.

Curriculum team: meets March 15
The meeting of the
new curriculum team, whoever they are, will be Saturday morning, March 15
at the home of Terry and Cris Bahadur.
We will do the best we can to develop a lesson plan for the
next 12 months.
If there are topics you would like to see us discuss in
class, hit the Reply button and give me your ideas. I'll begin spending
some time tomorrow brainstorming ideas.
Anyone interested in taking part in the meeting is welcome,
whether or not you'd want to lead any sessions.
-------
By the way, I'm sorry for the confusion at the class meeting on Sunday.
Terry thought I was leading it, and I thought he was leading it. So it
kinda led itself.
Given the confusion and speed with which we ended up
selecting team leaders, if anyone is having second thoughts or feeling
like they got swept into the job by wind shear, let Bill know.
Stay safe. I hope to see you Sunday.
Steve
