Christmas Post Office
First Church's Christmas Post Office will open this Sunday, November 30 in the front entry! Please feel free to send Christmas cards to anyone in our church family.
You may want to remember those in our family who find it difficult to worship with us on a regular basis: Ocena Allen, Elaine Anzalone, Jim Burgeon,  Dick & Louise Cole, Madelyn Hurn, Andress Kernick, Cora Logsdon, Alma Jean Lunn, Cleona McGuire, Mary Pauley, Bea Pinkerton, Norma Dell Smith, Rita Ulrickson, Jim Viani, and Dean & Roxie Wessels.
This is also a good opportunity to send notes of appreciation to those who diligently maintain our facilities: Eldon Asher, Bradley Rolfe, Rob & Gail Field, Keith Fitzsimmons, Jon Hahn, and Dan Danner.
MNU Band Concert--British Invasion
Featuring British music & composers this concert will highlight the prolific British influence on the modern wind band. The concert, featuring the 2014 Concert Band directed by Luke Johnson, will be presentedThursday, December 4 at 7:30pm in the Bell Cultural Events Center on MidAmerica Nazarene University. Next week (Dec 5 - Dec 12)...
Love in Action
Our First Church family includes many who rarely get the opportunity to enter our building. Our Christmas tradition is to deliver poinsettias or other expressions of care and connection to our homebound. You, your family, or your Sunday School class can sing carols, pray, and deliver gifts on Sunday, December 7. Please see Pastor Anne on Sunday or send her email (ahardy@kcfc.org) to sign up, or for more ideas of ways you can extend care this Christmas.
Ornaments for Orphans
Show the love of Christ to a child in foster care this Christmas by providing gifts for them. Please grab a tag from the Christmas tree in the foyer, purchase the suggested gift (or something similar) and place it under the tree in the foyer (unwrapped, with the suggestion tag attached) before December 7.
Honoring Someone with a Poinsettia
On Sunday, December 21, our sanctuary will be decorated with poinsettias in honor & memory of loved ones. The cost is $9 for each poinsettia. To order a poinsettia, please use an offering envelope and clearly print the person(s) name and indicate whether it will be "in honor of" or "memoralize". Poinsettias may be removed from the sanctuary following the Christmas Eve service. Orders must be placed by next Sunday,
December 7.
Recycling Christmas Lights
Instead of discarding unwanted or old Christmas tree lights, bring them to First Church and place them in the marked bin on the east end of the foyer after December 1. Long-time First Church member, Paul Spear is part of an organization that trains and employs individuals with special needs. This organization recycles the copper contained in strings of Christmas lights.

Crisis Care Kits
We will be collecting crisis care kits throughout the month of December. These kits are used to respond to needs all over the world in times of crisis. You can pick up ziplock bags, and the list of requested items, at the Compassion table in the foyer. Please return the filled bags to the church anytime in the month of December.
School Supplies for Sun Valley
During this holiday season, please save thebar codes from products with the Labels for Education logo, as well as Boxtops for Education labels. We will send these labels to Sun Valley Indian School in Arizona, for much needed school supplies, computers, and equipment. You can find a complete list of products with these labels in the red cans on the greeter's desks.
Sounds of Christmas
Plan now to attend our 2014 choir & orchestra Christmas concert on December 21 at 6pm! This year, we will partnering with the Belton New Horizons Church of the Nazarene. An additional concert will also be performed at Belton New Horizons on December 14 at 6pm. Invitation cards for both concerts will be available for you at the greeters' desks on Sunday.
Nazarene Youth Conference
Next July, our teens will be joining around 9000 other teenagers from around the world for Nazarene Youth Conference in Louisville, KY. Through an experience overflowing with dynamic speakers, powerful worship services, high-energy concerts, and service opportunities, NYC 2015 can be a time of great transformation for our young people. Our youth group will be devoting the majority of their fundraising to this event for the next year. If you would be interested in learning more, or in helping to sponsor a teen, please contact Pastor Roland.
2015 Work & Witness
Our Work and Witness Trip to Big Lake, Alaska is scheduled for
July 6 - 16, 2015.  Join Pastor Brad and Dawn Estep as the team works on renovations and improvements at Camp Maranatha. We will be putting together a team of people with varied skills and abilities and are particularly interested in including those who have never had an opportunity to participate in Work and Witness before. The cost for this trip will be approximately $1300.
Please see Jo Ann Blevins at the Compassion table in the Foyer this Sunday to pick up an application.
