Trinity United Methodist Church Daily Scrioture Email Devotion for Monday, 3 November 2914 "Isaiah 65:18"

Trinity United Methodist Church Daily Scrioture Email Devotion for Monday, 3 November 2914 "Isaiah 65:18"
"But be ye glad and rejoice for ever in that which I create: for, behold, I create Jerusalem a rejoicing, and her people a joy." Isaiah 65:18 (KJV)
Music has always been a way for me to connect my faith to my daily life.  Years ago I had the opportunity to be in Chalice with Rebecca Brown, one of the great treasures in my life.  We sang a song that became very special to the whole choir, and I listened to it again recently while walking and listening to my iPod. I hope you will  find the same inspiration and comfort in these words that I do.
In these days of confused situations
In these nights of a restless remorse,
When the heart and the soul of a nation
Lay wounded and cold as a corpse
From the grave of the innocent Adam
Comes a song bringing joy to the sad.
Oh your cry has been heard and the ransom
Has been paid up in full, be ye glad
Chorus:
Oh, be ye glad, oh, be ye glad.
Every debt that you've ever had
Has been paid up in full by the grace of the Lord.
Be ye glad, be ye glad, be ye glad
So be like lights on the rim of the water
Giving hope in a storm sea of night
Be a refuge amidst the slaughter
Of these fugitives in their flight
For you are timeless and part of a puzzle.
You are winsome and young as a lad.
And there is no disease or no struggle
That can pull you from God, be ye glad
Prayer:
Loving God,
May  we always remember the debt that has been paid for us.
May we find comfort and strength in that knowledge.
May we remember to be like lights on the rim of the water for you.
Oh, be ye glad!
