We've all heard - and asked, "What do you want for Christmas?" This year, try a new approach. Ask instead, "What do you want to do for others this year?"

Instead of rushing from your Thanksgiving family time to battling the mall crowds on Black Friday, searching for the perfect gift on the web or ordering another cheese-and-sausage gift box, remember the many people in struggling countries who just want the basics. Remember the people who could use an insecticide-treated bed net to protect against malaria or a solar light if they lack electricity. The person who has everything probably would be thrilled with a gift in his or her honor to help someone who has very little.
On #GivingTuesday, Dec. 2, remember Imagine No Malaria and ICT4D (Information and Communications Technologies for Development), two life-changing ministries of United Methodist Communications. When you give to Imagine No Malaria and ICT4D, you provide daily blessings that allow others to live.
You cannot giftwrap survival or fit it beneath your Christmas tree, but changing someone's life for the better is the #GivingTuesday gift that will keep on giving.
