"God is my Shield"
"O Lord, how many are my foes!" (Psalm 3:1).
Do you ever feel that way? Of course you do! We all do, and maybe today is that day for you, or you're in a season of "tens of thousands drawn up against me on every side" (v.6); maybe it's an illness, or a test, or a co-worker or a bunch of co-workers, or even a close family member, or in-laws(!). We are not immune from these things, but God is our shield and sustainer (3, 5) in the midst of them, and as this Psalm concludes, we are assured that God is already "striking" them down (7).
So, go through your day with confidence, the same confidence Paul proclaimed: If God is for us, who can be against us? Greater is the One who is within us than the one who is in the world. Go in confidence, for you are protected by the Shield of the living God! Amen.
