We'd like to offer a HUGE thanks to everyone who attended our Movie Nights in the Park this Summer! We look forward to next Summer when we can do it all again. DON'T FORGET, the Community Association has rescheduled one last showing of The Mask on September 12th at Sunset, so if you didn't have a chance to attend any of our Movie Nights, there's still one more opportunity for some family fun!
Middle School Youth Group
1st & 3rd Fridays // 5:30p - 7:30p
Starting September 18th, our Youth Group will be open to all kids from 5th-8th Grade! Our youth program will take place on 1st & 3rd Fridays from 5:30 - 7:30pm. It seeks to meet the social and spiritual needs of our youth by providing fun programs, activities, and events that will allow them to express and grow in their faith. Youth group provides them with a place they can belong and feel accepted in a spiritual family of their peers. Adams Avenue Street Fair
September 26th & 27th
The 34th annual Adams Avenue Street Fair – featuring 110 musical acts on eight stages – will be held from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 26, and from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.Sunday, Sept. 27.
This is Southern California’s largest free two-day music festival, held each year during the last weekend in September in the community of Normal Heights. The event also features beer gardens and beer tastings, giant carnival rides, exotic foods and more than 350 arts and crafts booths! Vendors with unique offerings will also be participating in this year’s street fair and will be set up back-to-back throughout the venue. A complete schedule of events, performance times, and map are available here!
Of course, our church will be participating in this event again this year! If you'd like to help us greet passersby, sell goodies at our bake sale, or enjoy activities with the kids, or if you just want more information, please email Brent at brent@nhunited.org!
Pancake Breakfast
Sunday, September 13th // 8:30a - 9:45a
Join us the Second Sunday of September for a free pancake breakfast! Don't worry about feeding your family, we'll do the work! Come to serve, make new friends, or just stuff your face! Stick around to check out our Sunday School & Worship Service afterwards. If you’d like to help out with these breakfasts during any month, just email Brent at brent@nhunited.org!
September Playgroups
Tuesdays, Thursdays & Fridays

New Playgroup Times Begin October 6th
We will have open play in our play room three times a week in September as an option to get out of the heat, but still get out of the house, play, and meet friends. Come and go as you please! All children under 5 and their caregivers are welcome.
Starting October 6th, we'll be starting new playgroups! Here are some details about the different groups we have planned for the kids:
All Ages Playgroup
Tuesdays • 10:00a-11:30a
Our Tuesday playgroup is open to all kids ages 5 and younger, and their caretakers. Socialize with other parents, while your kids engage in fun activities in our exciting playroom! No structure on these days, just come and enjoy yourself in a safe environment.
Preschool Group
Wednesdays • 10:00a-11:30a
Our Wednesday morning Preschool group is designed for Preschool age kids between 3 and 5 years of age. The first 30 minutes, we will provide the kids with an introduction to a classroom setting with stories, music, and movement activities. After circle time, your kids can enjoy hands-on learning opportunities and crafts to further engage their curiosity. Younger siblings are welcome to attend, and are encouraged to play in our toddler area with their caretakers while the preschoolers are involved in circle time.
You & Me, Play & Learn
Thursdays • 10:00a-11:30a
Our Thursday program is designed for toddlers and younger preschool age kids, however all children 5 and under are welcome to attend. Enjoy singing and hearing stories with your little one in a short circle time with parent participation. After circle time, the room will be open for free play and hands-on learning opportunities!

Adults and children of all ages gather in the sanctuary for a time of worship that is about praising God, but also about helping each other to see the sacred in the ordinary parts of life the rest of the week. Activities are in the sanctuary for children, but childcare is available in the nursery for little ones who need it.
Free Lunch for all under 18
Weekdays from 12pm - 1pm @ Adams Rec. Center

AIDS Walk & Run
September 26th
On Saturday, September 26th, over 8,000 individuals, teams, social clubs, local businesses, schools, universities, and faith organizations will come together for AIDS Walk/Run to remember those who have been lost to the disease and raise funds to support the more than 20,000 San Diegans living with HIV/AIDS. You can join San Diego’s largest HIV/AIDS fundraising event this month, and be part of this incredible experience. If you'd like to join a group of people from our church that are participating in this event, please contact Pastor Brent at brent@nhunited.org!
Adams Avenue Street Fair
September 26th & 27th
This Street Fair is one of the largest FREE music street fairs in California. There will be over 100 live music acts on 8 stages, four beer gardens, giant Carnival rides and 300 craft & food vendors.
