Professor of American Literature Receives National Recognition
Matt Seybold, Assistant Professor of American Literature and Mark Twain, has been selected as a National Endowment for the Humanities Summer Scholar from a national applicant pool. Dr. Seybold is one of 25 NEH Summer Scholars who will attend the Summer Institute entitled "The History of Political Economy," at Duke University this summer. The three-week program is directed by Bruce Caldwell, Director of Duke’s Center for the History of Political Economy, and features sessions led by prominent economic historians from across the US. Student Research Conference Showcases Best of the Best
Local alumni are invited to join students and faculty at the 7th Annual Elmira College Student Research Conference on May 18 from 1:00 pm - 5:00 pm in Cowles Hall. Autocross Event to Support Center for Mark Twain Studies
The Genesee Valley Chapter of the BMW Car Club of America will host an autocross event onSaturday, May 28 at the Murray Athletic Center, in support of the Michael J. Kiskis Memorial Endowed Fund at the Center for Mark Twain Studies. The event, scheduled from 7:30 a.m. until 4:00 p.m., is open to drivers at any level of ability and is a chance to learn the fundamentals of car control. Dr. Kiskis, who passed away in May 2011, was an Elmira College professor, international Twain scholar, and avid high performance driver.Click here for additional information.
2nd Annual Elmira College Wine Fest This Summer
The 2nd Annual Elmira College Wine Fest is set for Saturday, June 18 from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm on Carnegie Lawn right here on Campus! With the help of our local sponsors, the Elmira College Office of Alumni Relations and the Elmira Alumni Chapter are pleased to bring you a variety of tastings featuring Finger Lakes wineries, breweries, and a distillery. Garrison Keillor Completes Presidential Lecture Series

Garrison Keillor, one of the most prolific American storytellers of all time, will complete the 2015-2016 Presidential Lecture Series when he presents “An Evening of Storytelling,” at 7:00 p.m., Thursday, May 19 at the Clemens Center in Elmira. Tickets for the performance are available online atwww.clemenscenter.com or by visiting the Clemens Center/Downtown Elmira Box Office, Monday-Friday, 11:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
