Using Big Data to Help Understand the lives of family caregivers
Forbes | May 18, 2016
"What do family caregivers really do? The [Atlas of Caregiving] experiment involved tracking 14 largely self-selected families in the San Francisco area for about one day. And the real goal was not to tell a comprehensive story about caregiving but rather to learn whether such a study, expanded to many more families, could develop big data that would help us better understand what a caregiver's life is like, and how she can be supported."
Caregivers in America Infographic
HCBS Clearinghouse | May 18, 2016
"The National Association of States United for Aging and Disabilities, in partnership with the National Alliance for Caregiving, created an infographic that depicts an overview of statistics on the experiences of caregivers in the United States, documenting their growing contributions to providing care to older adults and persons with disabilities in light of limited resources for caregiver services."

When Should You Take a Break From Caregiving?
Next Avenue | May 17, 2016
"'Unlike the Energizer bunny - it goes and goes and goes - caregivers' batteries do run down,' says Elisha Beard, the supportive services coordinator for the Adult Day Program at the Benjamin Rose Institute on Aging. 'And when they do, caregivers need respite.'"

[New Research] Early Palliative Care May Benefit Caregivers, Too
The Independent | May 17, 2016
"The researchers conducted a randomized trial and noted that early palliative care after a diagnosis of an incurable cancer not only improves the quality of life of the patient, but also of caregivers. According to recent studies, it was shown that a psycho-educational intervention through even a telephone could assist in decreasing depression for patient's family caregivers."
