People often ask me where do I begin in reading the Bible. I love getting this question because it shows that they are seeking to engage themselves in God’s Word. I want to challenge every believer to make it a point to daily get into the Scriptures. When we read the Scriptures, we can see the very heart of God! If you are struggling to read the Scriptures, here are some of my favorite books. Obviously, every book in the Bible is amazing but I just wanted to share some of my favorites.
Joshua:
Joshua is this great book found in the Old Testament. In this book, Joshua is in charge of leading Israel after Moses passed away. This book includes encouraging words from God and some amazing stories!
Hosea:
I love preaching on this book and I simply just love reading this book. The book includes themes like God’s faithfulness, God’s mercy and our repentance. I want to invite you to take some time this week and read the Book of Hosea. If you sat down for a few hours, you could get it done.
Luke:
Luke is found in the New Testament and it is about the birth, life, ministry, death and resurrection of Jesus. It is amazing to read.
Acts:
Acts is part 2 to the book of Luke. It is the story of the early believers and the story of early church. It is full of miracles and a mighty movement of God.
All of the above are just suggestions. These are just some of my favorites. The most important thing is that we are being active in reading God’s Word.
Go out and get into the Word! It will change your life!
Have a great week!
Pastor Kevin
