President's eUpdate

Dear Saint Paul Community,
Greetings to friends and members of the Saint Paul School of Theology community.
Though we may be scattered around the world and on two campuses, we are the expectant Easter people together. I pray that all of you emerge from the Lenten season with new spiritual insight to sound the Alleluia on Easter.
I write to you on my tenth day as Acting President of the seminary, and I already have much news to tell because we are a thriving community of inspiring students, faculty, and staff. The seminary is delighted to report that the Board of Trustees approved the 2017-2025 Strategic Plan, and you will learn more about the vision for our future in the coming months.
Saint Paul is seeking comments from the public about the seminary in preparation for its comprehensive evaluation by its regional accrediting agency. We will host a visit on September 19-20, 2016 with a team representing the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association. The public may submit comments to the Commission's website at www.ncahlc.org or via mail.

In keeping with our commitment to intentional relationships, students from both the Oklahoma City University and Resurrection campuses organized a night of food, games, photos, and laughter. Faculty and staff also attended.
Many of them joined Dr. Jim Brandt and me for the Spiritual Formation Retreat at Centennial United Methodist Church in Kansas City, Missouri, the next day on March 4. We thank Saint Paul Alum and Senior Pastor Rev. David Gilmore and his congregation for hosting us.
The faculty received, just this week, our certificates for completion of a coursecalled Fundamentals of Online Teaching from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, which marks a rich six weeks of faculty becoming online students. We are thankful to theMissouri United Methodist Foundation for supporting faculty learning, but also have very much else for which we are grateful.
Please visit our campuses and events when you can. You are encouraged to be part of our spring event opportunities. See the listing of upcoming events below.
I would welcome your visit to my office to hear about your various calls and vocations, to talk about the future of Saint Paul, and to learn how we can craft our communities and ministries together.
May you experience God's blessing richly in this Easter season!
