Lent Revival. The "Celebrating Divine Design" is TONIGHT at 7:00 p.m.during Wednesday Night Live! Our guest preacher is Rev. Antonio Settles of St. Andrew. Come and be with us for this x-citing, mid-week, recharge worship!
Sunday's Sermon. This Sunday's sermon is "Are You Comfortable With What You Know?" (Acts 9:19-22). Worship with us at 8 a.m. or 11 a.m. at the Paseo Campus or 10 a.m. at the Renaissance Campus.
Reaffirmation Sunday. All baptized worshipers are invited to participate in reaffirming their baptism vows during worship Sunday, March 13th. At that time, congregants will have the opportunity to recommit themselves to faithful Christian living.
Kidz Connect. Children ages 5-10 are invited to worship together every 4th Sunday at 8 a.m. worship and every Sunday at 11 a.m. Check-in and registration begin 15 minutes before worship. You can also register your child(ren) at www.stjamesumc.com. Early registration allows us plan properly for snacks, supplies and volunteers. Kidz Connect incorporates praise & worship, offering, communion, arts & crafts and science activities.

Holy Week. Maundy Thursday, March 24, will feature a re-enactment of the Last Supper. A Prayer Vigil will be held Good Friday, March 25 from 6 a.m.-6 p.m. in the Vaughan Chapel. Join us at 7 p.m. for the Seven Last Words of Christ.
Easter Egg Hunt. This year's event will take place on our Renaissance Campus lawn. We hope to give away 5,000 eggs, and are asking for donations of individually wrapped pieces of candy and plastic eggs. Collection boxes can be found in the Newton Lounge and the Narthex. The deadline to submit donations is Sunday, March 20th.

Lenten Bible Study. The "Overcoming Obstacles" study continuesTuesday evenings through March 15th. We are examining some of the challenges that hinder believers from living a faithful life. The good news is that believers have always had obstacles and the faithful continue to grow. Led by the Pastoral Team, this study will be held in the sanctuary of the Renaissance Campus. Fellowship and refreshments - 6 p.m.; Study -6:30 p.m.
Chatterbox Study. Using the book Crash the Chatterbox: Hearing God's Voice Above All Others by Pastor Steven Furtick, Danny & Bronna Woods will lead this study. Sessions continue at the Renaissance Campus from 6 p.m.-7 p.m. This six week study focuses on four key areas of negative thoughts: insecurity, fear, condemnation and discouragement. Invitation to Celebrate! - The 150th Anniversary of the United Methodist Women on Sunday March 13, at 9:45 a.m. in the Fellowship Hall. Please join us in the Celebration.
World Day of Prayer. Join the Church Women United, Friday, March 4th at 10:00 a.m. at Jamison Temple CME (Benton & Linwood Blvds). Through the World Day of Prayer, people are encouraged to become aware of other countries and cultures and move out of isolation. They are also encouraged to take up the burdens of other people, to sympathize with the problems of other and cultures and to pray with and for them. They are further encouraged to become aware of and use them in service of society. The aim is to demonstrate that prayer and action are inseparable and both have immeasurable influence in the world.

The Prayer Conference. The Prayer Conference begins this Friday, March 4th, 6 p.m. in the sanctuary for opening worship. Come to witness the power of prayer Saturday morning, March 5th, 9 a.m. Contact Pastor John Macklin or call the church office 816-444-5588 with any questions.

Christian Sympathy. Jacklyn Thompson, sister-in-law of Johnnie Thompson (Jankeith), passed.
Encouragement Ministry. As we continue to lift up those on our prayer list, please bring a get well or encouragement card on the first Sunday of each month. Please sign your name and feel free to add some words of encouragement. Write their first & last name on the envelope and drop it in the "mailbox" in the Narthex. The cards will be distributed to those individuals. If you would like a name added to the list, please contact Pastor Valentine at lvalentine@stjamesumc.com.
Bettylu's Closet. Bettylu's Closet needs donations of dishes, glasses, cutlery, small household appliances (toasters, blenders, etc), bed linens, rugs etc. We have beautiful prom dresses in different sizes and styles! Contact Bobbie Faulkner at faulkner.c@sbcglobal.net or 816-822-0299.

Operation Serve. Children & Youth are encouraged to serve in worship every 2nd Sunday. You can choose one of four ways to serve: usher, greeter, sing in the choir, or work with the audio visual ministry. How do you choose to serve on the 2nd Sunday?
Little Vessel Board. Training for Little Vessels takes place each month on the Saturday before the second Sunday at 10:00 a.m. Contact Bredna Sylvan at 816-942-4258.

Father/Daughter Dance. Join us Saturday, March 12, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. in the Ministry Mall. This year's theme is African Heritage. African attire is encouraged, but not required. Tickets are $30 and cover one father and up to five daughters. Tickets can be purchased during HeBrews, in the Men's Sunday School class or from any UMM Officer. Girl Scout Cookies. Girl Scout Troop 3335 is selling Cookies! Please support SJUMC's Girl Scout ministry by purchasing Girl Scout Cookies. We will have a booth set up after 8 am and 11 am worship. Cookies are only $4/box with eight tasty varieties available. Give back by purchasing a box of cookies to be donated to our local USO service men and women. Thank you!

Free College Visit. The Greater Kansas City Alumni Chapter of UAPB (University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff) is providing free transportation to Lion Fever Day (High School Day). Interested high school students should RSVP by March 11, 2016 to uapbkc@gmail.com or 816-820-9722 for details. Hotel accommodations and meals are an additional costs and should be paid by the student.
